Thankfulness is gratitude to appreciate God to celebrate life. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 God says, “Be joyful always pray continually give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. You give thanks in all circumstances. Thankfulness is way of life flowing from our hearts and lips. Scriptures says understand thankfulnes and gratitude in all circumstances. Psalm 136:1 says, Give thanks to the LORD for HE is good and HIS love endures forever. Your reasons to be thankful are God’s constant goodness and HIS steadfast love. Recognize the nature of God to understand God’s abundant love in John 10:10; Romans 7:5. Be grateful and thankful for life in Christ as gift of God.
Psalm 30 says praise God for HIS LOVE and deliverance. David said, I exalt you O LORD, you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. O LORD, you brought m from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit. .You turned my mourning into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy my heart sings to you I will not be silent. O LORD my God, I give you thanks forever” in Psalm 30:1-12. David gives thanks to God following difficult circumstance. This psalm of thanksgiving praises God in the moment and remembers God’s past faithfulness. It is God’s character, which is so wonderful that praise is the only appropriate response.
Be thankful in midst of hard circumstances in Psalm 28 by David in distress. Cry to God for mercy, protection, justice. David calls out to God, “Praise the LORD, for HE heard my cry for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy, I give thanks to HIM in song in Psalm 28:6-7. In the midst of hardship, David remembered God is Good he knows and trusts God gives thanks. Job’s attitude of praise in the face of death is the LORD gives and takes away; may the name of the LORD be praised in Job 1:21. Believers thank God in the New Testament even Paul persecuted wrote, “Thanks be to God who leads us to triumph in Christ in victory and knowledge of HIM in 2 Corinthians 2:14. In Hebrews, we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken so thankfully worship God with reverence in Hebrews 12:28. Peter’s reason to be thankful is even in grief and all kinds of trials. Through hardship faith is proved genuine in praise, glory, honour, joy to God as Jesus Christ is revealed in 1 Peter 1:6-7.
People of God are thankful and realize how much God gives to all. One thing in the last days is lack of thanksgiving says 2 Timothy 3:2. People will be “ungrateful” but we must be thankful. Be thankful because God is worthy of our thanksgiving to credit HIM for “every good and perfect gift He gives in James 1:17. Thankfulness focuses on Godly desires puts off the pain of circumstances. Thankfulness helps us to remember God is in control. Thankfulness, is appropriate and healthy beneficial to remind us of the bigger picture we belong to God. We are blessed with spiritual blessings in Ephesians 1:3. Truly, have abundant life in John 10:10 eternal gratefulness to God in Christ Jesus blood through the Holy Spirit.
