TRUST GOD DO NOT WORRY

Focusing on the present will help apprehensive thoughts to disappear on their own Trust God don’t worry in Bible Matthew 6:25-34. Jesus says do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; do not worry about your body what you will wear. Your life is more than food and the body more than clothes. Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will take care of itself by trusting God to provide and guide you to make wise choices and prosper. Talk to the family, friends, counsellor or GP and look after yourself. When anxiety panic attack sets in, do breathing exercise ask God to give you great HIS PEACE beyond the human understanding promised in Gospel. The words bring consolation, joy and solace. In Phillipians 4:6-7 Jesus said, Do not let your heart be troubled as you believe in God believe in Jesus. Don’t be anxious so in all situations pray and petition God with thanks to present requests to God. Peace of God beyond understanding to guard your heart and mind in Jesus as your lifeboat makes a difference despite reality of circumstances. In Isaiah 41:10 God says, don’t fear I AM with you, don’t worry or dismayed, I AM your God I will strengthen and help you to uphold you with MY victorious right hand. In Psalm 94:19, God says cast all anxiety on HIM for HE cares for you. Before the anxiety read to keep God’s words in your heart in advance to brings joy. Lamentations 3:22-23 says, Steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; HIS mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Proverbs 14:1 says anxiety weighs a heart down, kind words cheers up I  Proverbs 12:25. Jesus promised Peace I leave with you peace I give you. I don’t give Peace as the world gives. In John 14:27, Don’t let your heart be troubled don’t be afraid. Psalm 38:9 says, All desires open before God so HE  sees sighing. Mark 13:11, falsely accused don’t worry about what to say say what is given you at time by the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says God is able to bless you abundantly in all things, at all times to have all you need to abound in good works. In Revelation 21:3-4 A loud voice from throne says, “Look! God’s dwelling place is among people and HE will dwell with them. They will be HIS people and God HIMSELF will be with them as their God. ‘HE will wipe every tear from their eyes no more death, mourning or crying or pain for old things pass away.” In Job 2:20-21, Job got up, tore his robe, shaved his head, on the ground in worship said: “Naked he came from mother’s womb, naked will depart The LORD gives and takes away the NAME of the LORD be praised.”Luke 12:23. Do not worry about your life what to eat or about your body, what to wear your life is worth more than food and body more than clothes.

Bible says worrying as science research shows is a waste of time advises to turn off worrying. Experts reveals the THREE STEPS to take control of fear, worry and apprehension to stop brooding for good.

  • Recognise brooding wastes time and energy, not problem-solving
  • Focus on here and now let worry slip away, stop them taking over
  • Avoid distractions as its opposite affects calming down the mind
  • Distraction don’t work long term on external things to be calm 
  • ‘Mind imagines things so thought become facts

Expert’s three steps to stop worrying for good: Recognise brooding thoughts are a waste of time, focus on present, avoid distractions. Can all help people to take control of apprehensions, according to Professor Hans Nordahl of department of behavioural medicine at Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He said:  people confuse brooding with problem solving, analysis or review, the content tends to be self-critical and self-focused linked to negative experiences in life. ‘Illustrate it by holding a glass of water in hand. Most people say its easy to do but if holds glass continuously for 2 hours gets heavy. ‘It works the same way with brooding and worries. They aren’t necessarily heavy short-lived but gets heavy if lasts long time. Recognise that brooding thoughts waste of time and energy and not problem-solving.

3 STEPS TO STOP WORRYING

According to Professor Hans Nordahl from the department of behavioural medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, people can take control of their worries by:

  • Recognising thoughts waste time – Going over things repeatedly is not problem-solving
  • Focus on here and now involved in real-life situations allows negative thoughts to disappear on their own.
  • Stop seeking distractions – These have opposite effect on calming mind as people rely on external things to find relief. Recognise it is a waste of time.  

Firstly, recognise worrying is a waste of time and energy. Professor Nordahl said ‘Reduce brooding mental activity realize brooding is meaningless useless activity. doesn’t help anything has no calming or problem-solving effect.’ People confuse worrying with problem solving but it is negative repetitive thinking of negative experiences reinforces problems. Once you recognise worrying, ask yourself if it has any purpose or if there is even an answer to question you are considering. Focus on the ‘here and now’ in a spatial moment enjoy your life no matter how humble. Focus on situation currently in. Professor Nordahl said: ‘Get involved in more real-life things happening in your life. ‘Focus on here and now illusions of  worry and brooding won’t take hold as much. ‘Thoughts continue to churn, but let them be there and live your own life. ‘Anything not given attention gradually disappear on its own. Focus on present helps stop overwhelming apprehensive thoughts to disappear on their own.wp-1578133128741.jpgStress makes people see sense of danger in harmless situations research reveals earlier this month. Humans are thought to have learned to identify dangerous scenarios for self-defense, however, certain circumstances can cause people to misidentify such cues. Researchers found people respond with fear when their stress levels are high. Suzannah Creech associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas, who was not involved in study, said: ‘These findings provide important laboratory data that helps explain why PTSD [post-traumatic stress disorder] symptoms exacerbated during times of stress, and the repeated stress and trauma in the battlefield may lead to increased risk for PTSD.’ Experts believe the findings could aid PTSD treatment. Distractions do not work so avoid distractions as it has the opposite effect on calming the mind. Professor Nordahl said: ‘Turning focus away from your thoughts does not mean trying to escape or distract yourself from them. ‘Many people use television, gambling, computer games or drugs to control or suppress the brooding. ‘Distracting self to calm down does not work well in the long run relying on people or external things to get calm. ‘Trying not to think of negative thoughts creates recoil effect because the brain keeps track of what you shouldn’t think, about the thoughts you’re trying to avoid.’ Mind is capable of imagining things’ Professor Nordahl said some people confuse brooding with problem solving, analysis or review, but content self-critical self-focused linked to negative experiences in life.
