AMAZING MIRACLE RESCUE

IMG_20180809_155003

Thank God Almighty for this amazing miracle rescue of the coach and Wild Boar team boys trapped in the cave in Thailand has made headlines all over the world. This miracle surpassed any past cave rescue missions so involved numerous international cave diving experts. Thanks to excellent teamwork, all managed to overcome overwhelming challenges to rescue team successfully. It is beyond any other previous daring rescues without precedence yet worked together to rescue the team and experts who risked their lives to save them. The poignant issue that stood out for me is a miracle of ability to communicate with  the two British cave divers who helped to rescue the team. How on earth would they understand each other without the only English speaker among. It would probably have caused further delays or complicated matters. In counselling the concept of entering cave means getting into the most painful areas of life one does not want address. The mountain in this case described as sleeping woman so symbolically her womb was entered. The flood birth water had to be drained so human life is born. Like a birthpang labour pain is unpredictable and time-consuming the process was daunting but by the Grace of God team delivered safely to the Glory of God. unnamed (1)The 12 boys were all rescued and taken to hospital to be checked with the coach and later released press conference. On 23 June, 12 boys and their football coach walked into cave after football practice in northern Thailand. The boys, who are part of the Moo Pa – Wild Boars  football team became trapped when heavy rains flooded the Tham Luang cave to cut off their escape route. All 12 boys and their coach have been freed from the cave. A few details about the group have been released. Here is what we know about the boys and their coach:Chanin VibulrungruangChanin Vibulrungruang (Nickname: Titan), 11 is the youngest in the team, who played as a forward. Titan started playing football at seven before joining his school’s sports club. He was later invited to join Wild Boars football club.Panumas SangdeePanumas Sangdee (Nickname: Mig), 13. According to Nopparat Kantawong, the head coach of the football team, Mig is bigger than other kids his age, but he is agile. He is a defender for Wild Boars.Duganpet PromtepDuganpet Promtep (Nickname: Dom), 13 is a striker, and captain of the Wild Boars, Dom has reportedly been scouted by many professional clubs in Thailand. He is said to be motivator and respected by team for his football skills. Players on field need captain like him because sometimes a coach can’t get in to solve their problems,” Nopparat told the BBC.

Adul Sam-onAdul Sam-on, 14 born in Myanmar’s self-governing Wa State and left his family behind to get a better education in Thailand, according to reports. The left defender speaks Thai, Burmese, Chinese and English, and was the only one able to communicate with the British divers when the group was first discovered. While trapped in the cave, the boys and their relatives exchanged letters, carried by the rescue divers. Adul told his parents he missed them and not to worry. “Mum and Dad want to see your face,” his parents wrote. “Mum and Dad pray for you and your friends, so we can see each other soon.”  Adul is also a talented volleyball player – and part of a local team that came second in all of northern Thailand two years in a row, local teacher Bunjob Chai-arm told BBC. Adul said he learnt as a Christian in Church. So an amazing miracle the team gets on well together despite being from different faiths. This mutual respect is a great advantage and so its good to learn basic English.  Somepong JaiwongSomepong Jaiwong (Nickname: Pong), 13 is a cheerful boy who likes football, and all sports. He dreams of becoming a footballer for the Thai national team,” his teacher Manutsanun Kuntun told AFP. The left winger wrote to parents from inside the cave, saying: “I love Dad and Mum. Don’t worry about me, I’m safe.” His parents replied: “Take good care of yourself and be strong said Dad and Mum and all are waiting for you.”Mongkol BooneiamMongkol Booneiam (Nickname: Mark), 12. Mark has been described by his teacher as a “very respectful” boy. He cheerful, energetic, very friendly, and likes football and volleyball, Bunjob Chai-arm told the BBC. Mark and his mother had moved to Thailand from Myanmar. He plays in same volleyball team as Adul. His father Thinnakorn Boonpiem told AFP that his son is a “good boy” who loves to study – almost as much as football.Nattawut TakamrongNattawut Takamrong (Nickname: Tern), 14. In a letter to his parents, Tern told them not to worry about him. The defender wrote he missed his parents and grandparents, but “Tern can take care of myself. “Dad and mum are not angry at you and do not blame you,” his parents replied, adding that they were waiting for him “in front of the cave.”Peerapat SompiangjaiPeerapat Sompiangjai (Nickname: Night), 17. Night plays as right winger on the team. He went missing on his birthday and his parents say they are still waiting to hold his party. According to reports, the boys went into the cave to celebrate Night’s birthday. They were said to have brought treats and snacks along with them. The supplies probably helped sustain group in the many days spent trapped inside the cave. Sittthisak Sawanrak, who goes to the same cycling club as Night, describes him as “a great lad who just loves to cycle and play football.“He’s a quiet boy – doesn’t talk much, but a very good, polite boy,” he told the BBC. In a letter to his parents from the cave, Night wrote: “Night loves everyone” and drew several hearts.Ekarat WongsukchanEkarat Wongsukchan (Nickname: Bew), 14. Bew is the goalkeeper of the team. In a letter to his mother, Bew promised to help her sell things at her shop once he was rescued.Prajak SuthamPrajak Sutham (Nickname: Note), 15. Note is described by family friends as a “smart, quiet guy who loves sport and supports Chiang Rai United.” Family friend Ponrawee Tachavandee told the BBC he was “shocked” when he learned Note was trapped. “I didn’t expect he would go inside cave.” Rinlinee Sombat, who works in the same garage as Note’s father, describes him as a kind boy who takes care of his two-year-old sister, and enjoys playing with her young son. He is a smart kid, when you teach him how to fix something in garage learns how to do it after just one go,” she told the BBC.Pipat PhoPipat Pho (Nickname: Nick), 15 in his letter, Nick told his parents he wants to go for Mookatha, or Thai barbeque, when he comes out of the cave. “Nick loves Mum, Dad and siblings,” he wrote, alongside a drawing of a heart.Pornchai KamluangPornchai Kamluang (Nickname: Tee), 16. Tee is a defender for the Wild Boars. “Don’t worry, I’m very happy”, said Tee in a letter to his parents. The mood was tense as people waited for news of high-risk operation. The Assistant coach Ekapol Chantawong (Nickname: Ake), 25. Ake reportedly born in Myanmar and lost his parents at a young age. Before becoming a football coach, spent several years as a Buddhist monk, and learnt to conserve energy by restricting movements and meditating. According to local news reports, taught these techniques to the boys in the cave. In his letter, Ake apologised to parents for taking boys into cave network, but many replied to say they did not blame him. “I promise I will take care of the kids as best as I can,” Ake wrote. The found Thai cave boys July 2018The group of boys and their coach were found after nine days. Some media reports suggest that when the group was found Ake was the weakest, having refused to eat any of the food they had brought with them, giving it instead to the boys. His note aincluded a message to his aunt and grandmother, informing them that he was “fine.” Do not worry too much about me. Take good care of your health,” he wrote, adding: “Please prepare vegetable juice and pork rind for me to eat when I get out. Thanks.”A composite image showing the rescued football teamThank God meant finally, they had been found. Two British Mr Volanthen and Richard Stanton were in the cave after being called in by Thai authorities with another British caving expert Robert Harper. The trio arrived in Thailand 3 days after football team went missing. More than 1,000 people were involved in operation from all over the world.Richard William Stanton Robert Charles Harper and John Volanthen(From Left to right) Richard Stanton, Robert Harper and John Volanthen. The British Cave Rescue Council (BCRC) – the body for voluntary underground rescue in British Isles in contact with British divers since the return. Bill Whitehouse, council’s vice chairman, said the men described dive as “gnarly” in an email, meaning there were complications and problems.  It was 11 hour round trip, involving a 1.5km passage, flooded open he told BBC’s Breakfast.Cross section of cave showing various hazardsOn hearing the boys were found, Mr Whitehouse said: “It was really quite a moment, I can tell you.” However, he said that “moment of euphoria” for the divers and the boys would have been followed by: “Now what?”Bill Whitehouse of British Cave Rescue Council was in touch with the divers. Around 4,000 volunteers worked to clean up the area around cave which was battered by relays of rescuers, volunteers and news crews.

What we know about trio

Mr Volanthen and Mr Stanton are part of the South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team. John and Rick involved in a good number of rescues over the years, and they’ve got lot of personal expertise to take to Thailand,” the team’s chairman, Gary Mitchell, saidIn France in 2010 the pair were part of a team attempting to rescue a trapped diverMr Stanton, a retired firefighter from Coventry, was also involved in the rescue of six British cavers in Mexico in 2004.Richard StantonRichard Stanton was made an MBE in recognition of his cave diving rescue services. During that rescue Mr Stanton was able to persuade one of the group – who was terrified of water – to make a 180-metre dive out of the cave, the West Midlands Fire Service said. In a 2007 interview, he said he became interested in diving after watching a programme called “Underground Eiger” as a child. He joined caving and diving clubs at university. Speaking to the BBC in 2004 he described difficulties of navigating caves: “When people land on the moon they had a map, they knew where they were going but in cave if you’re beyond known limit of the cave, nobody knows where it goes, you don’t know what will happen round the corner.” Mr Stanton was made an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List at the end of 2012 for his cave diving rescue services.John Volanthen at rescueJohn Volanthen is a member of South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team. Mr Volanthen is an IT consultant based in Bristol but who grew up in Brighton. He started caving as a scout. Spoke to the Sunday Times in 2013, said cave rescue required calm heads.“Panic adrenalines are great in certain situations but not in cave-diving,” he said. “The last thing you want is an adrenaline whatsoever.” He added: “cave diving is like a puzzle with fox, chicken and grain, not dangerous if you do it right.” According to an online profile, Mr Volanthen runs marathons and ultra-marathons. He joked “he runs to eat more biscuits.” His mother Jill said she felt ‘absolute pride’ over son’s role in rescue effort in Thailand.img_20180809_162823.jpg

Artists rallied together to create mural to commemorate event by various team members showing cave rescuers and the supporting teams that helped to achieve this miracle. The rescue teams included local divers and a cave doctor from Australia and soldiers volunteers, whole Thailand nation plus all nations helped in the search and rescue of 12 teenage boys and football coach who disappeared into a cave network in Thailand. Professional divers helped to find the group but high water and the mud in narrow passages drove them back when Jonathan Head was with search teams. Eventually the Wild Boar team was safely rescued after 17 days in the cave and now back home, thanks and Glory to God. In life people descend into emotional trauma caves sometimes requiring whole lot of global specialists to understand daring missions to help overcome. Counselling demands people be willing to let in others to dig deeper to deal with the hidden cave issues affecting your life. Despite opening up and feeling vulnerable it is worthwhile getting help. Everyone in life most of the time needs somebody so all others are in it together whether inside or on the outside cave it takes mutual support to survive daily challenges in life.

GOD’S SPIRITUAL FIRE SAVES

On the left, a fire engulfs Bethel Community Church. On the right, the prayer room and its furniture survived relatively unscathed.God’s Consuming Spiritual Fire Power is again demonstrated in preserved prayer room saved intact despite devastating fire that destroyed the Bethel Community Church. A miracle happened at the heart of the church when God’s Supernatural Fire POWER saved HIS WORDS recorded in sermons. The Bible says God puts HIS WORDS ABOVE HIMSELF so human fire did not destroy God’s preserved words on tape. Even in the midst of adversity, tragedy or spiritual attacks God always comes through with a testimony of His Word. In this case literally preserving precious priceless sermons that GLORIFIED HIS Holy Name. The father of current pastor passed into heaven 18 months ago and heaven and the angels ensured God’s words did not perish. The prayers of the righteous avails much as proved by the Holy Presence of God in the church. The Bethel Community Church prayer room survived unscathed in the devastating fire which tore through the church. The pastor of the fire-ravaged church said it is “quite incredible” that a prayer room survived relatively unscathed.  Worshippers speculated a “spiritual fire” protected the room, Pastor Andrew Cleverly said. Pastor Andrew CleverlyMr Cleverly is hoping to retrieve tapes of his late father’s sermons which are stored in the room. About 95 firefighters and police officers responded on 15 June but it took until the following evening to put out the blaze. A 43-year-old man and a woman, aged 36, were arrested on suspicion of arson released pending further inquiries. An image released from inside the church shows a room and furniture within it apparently untouched by the fire. “Pastor Andrew Cleverly called for the community to “stand up and be strong” after the fire. Mr Cleverly said some of the community had “found comfort” in the belief that its use as a prayer room had shielded it from the fire. Bethel Community Church in Newport on fireIt is quite incredible really,” said Mr Cleverly, who got image from engineer. “Said it was left untouched. And there was no fire door, I think it was just a wooden door. “People are taking comfort in the belief that the reason the room was still intact was because of Spiritual Fire which the ordinary fire could not penetrate.Bethel Community Church dates back to the 1880s. Mr Cleverly’s father was the former church pastor who passed away 18 months ago said the room was used to store audio tape recording of father’s sermons. “When it is safe to do so, will to try and retrieve them,” he said. And a special service will take place nearby at Havelock Street Presbyterian Church from 15:00 BST on Sunday. “It will be a special time of reflection and a time to come together,” added Mr Cleverly. “I would like to thank the Havelock Street Presbyterian church which has very, very generously offered us a space for worship.”Havelock Street Presbyterian Church, Newport. The Pastor has thanked Havelock Street Presbyterian Church for offering his congregation a place to worship. He also thanked the community and the local businesses for supporting the church. “Sometimes it takes something like this that shows how a community comes together,” he added. The 130-year Grade-II listed Bethel Community Church on Stow Hill in Newport was destroyed after a fire spread from an old nightclub next door. The significance of this true story is at times tragedy destroys physical structures and the material possessions but God helps to strengthen faith and the Spirit of God in believers encourages us to continue by faith because it is well with our soul in Christ Jesus Name. Material things and structures can be replaced but the Spirit of God in mankind is irreplaceable for eternal salvation.

IMMINENT END OF WORLD?

end of the worldSome followers of Bible keeping track of world events believe a lot is occurring now which would suggest that the end of the world is near. The most obvious sign for Christian conspiracy theorists is the seemingly imminent war between Iran and Israel. Christians tout Israel as the Holy Land and an attack on that is an attack on God, they believe. Website Signposts of the Times points to Ezekiel 38/39 reads: “After many days you will be called to arms as part of end of world Christians believe THESE are some signs of the apocalypse.

israel

And the tension between Israel and Iran continues to mount. In future years will invade land recovered from war, whose people regathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had long been desolate. “When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign LORD.” Another sign according to the website is the news French President Emmanuel Macron called on countries, including Britain, to sign up for 10-nation defence coalition of EU member states. Signposts of Times: “specifically in Revelation 17 of a group of 10 Kings/Kingdoms will rise during the time of the Antichrist and in Daniel 12 we are told that these armies will ultimately march into the Middle-East and specifically, into Israel.

macron

Macron called on a 10-nation army. And what to make of the next news story which reports on the Pope and his work to bring groups together from the Middle-East to ‘help bring peace to the region’? “The bible tells us ‘blessed are the peace-makers’, (Matthew 5:9), but it also warns that when all begin to say ‘peace and safety, there will be sudden destruction.” The website fails to give a date on when the world will end but other conspiracy theorists believe that it began last year and will be completed in 2025. Christian conspiracy theory sited Unsealed writes: “Looking in rear-view mirror see that Great Sign occurred on September 23–24, 2017 in immediate in close proximity to Feast of Trumpets.

YOUTH BUSINESS GROWTH

IMG_20180410_065558The teenage entrepreneur Tommie Rose has become young ambassador for The National Enterprise Challenge (TNEC). The youngster, from Ordsall joins forces with former ‘Dragon’ Theo Paphitis who is supporting competition a second year in a row. The budding businessman Tommie, 15, became an M.E.N favourite when he raked in £14,000 from selling treats to students at Salford Buile Hill High School. He was also offered his job within hours of enterprising story going online. He puts his experience to good use as he champions inter-school competition sponsored by a stationary company Ryman. The challenge, a ‘real life’ business situation set by Theo and Rymans is divided into 2 age categories: Key Stage 3 (Year 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Year 9-10). Tommie’s role is to deliver talks and workshops at schools entering competition to inspire them to work together and sharing with them his own success tips.Tommie with Ben, Michael Dyer, CEO and Co-Founders at Ryman National Enterprise. Since appearing in world renowned Forbes magazine, and having the backing of likes of Sir Alan Sugar, Tommie made a point of encouraging youthg to get involved in business and entrepreneurship. He said: “I think this opportunity fits really well together, I think what TNEC does is brilliant by motivating young people interested in business such as myself. “Importantly for me it highlights the fact that you do not need to be top of your class or necessarily academic high achiever to be good at enterprise I think I will be able to inspire so many young people as they will see themselves in me and more likely to take on board what I say as I am a young person achieving success.” And The National Enterprise Challenge aims to focus on developing skills in young people like; teamwork, leadership, communication and their presentation of ideas and projects. Each school that takes part in the challenge will send winning team of 6 pupils and 2 teachers to The National Finals to be held at Alton Towers in July. There are also awards for the most enterprising students, teachers and schools. This is good news to really help young people to encourage them in society to become savvy business people. Take a good look at how families and the schools channel energy of young people to be productive and more focussed on good ideas. This is a dedicated young entrepreneur who needed guidance to grow business idea. Good to know the business community understands his motivation and passion to help him establish his plans. This is a better option than idlying and bored so lured into mischief as some tend to do. It is good to support young people to be contributing to society in a good way to not be overburdened by debt without jobs for life. Cumbersome yoke of debt around young people’s neck is broken by Tommie Rose to earn money early in life and have good success.

THE LONDON FIRE OF 1666

Great-fire-of-London-in-ITV-s-new-series-518466
London fire of 1666 that happened 351 years ago on Sunday 2 September, is well known all over the world. Songs sang about the fire as written was sung as follows: London is burning, London is burning, Fetch the engines, Fetch the engines, Fire fire, fire, fire, pour on water, pour on water. London is burning, London is burning, fire fire, fire, fire, pour on water, pour on water. This song was sang continuously and repeatedly as long as the time allowed and was permitted. It was a miracle fewer people died so the official toll was six although in the aftermath of the fire more people died later from related causes. Such as homelessness, displacement, lynchings, and blaming Catholics for starting the fire. Despite the fact that the fire started from a baker’s oven and could have been averted, delay of order to contain and curb the fire caused it to inflame beyond human control.  The most interesting thing about the London fire is that, often most living history books on the fire do not mention the prophetic warnings issued before the fire occurred. This warning is documented in: Theological Works of the Reverend Charles Leslie, 1832, available from https://books.google.co.uk as recorded in a book on Theology.1666-2016-london-fire-babylon-the-great-burning
Solomon Eccles, a Quaker preacher and prophet, went naked through Bartholomew fair the year before the fire of London with a pan of fire upon his head, warning people to repent or fire will destroy the city of London. Charles’s next, sharper message in 1665 warned of the risk of fire from the narrowness of streets and authorised both imprisonment of recalcitrant builders and demolition of crowded buildings. Like the fire of Sodom and Gomorrah and modern fire of Grenfell Tower among other fires globally, often these warning signs are then ignored and the messengers mocked and ridiculed by the very people whose lives would be saved from the fire. Time and time again history records tragedy that could be averted yet somehow people ignore it take things for granted. In His Mercy and Grace, Almighty God sends such advance warnings repeatedly until time runs out. The purpose of allowing fires is mostly to shake awaken mankind from their slumber of sleep of indifference and debauchery. When all avenues of communication fails, due to break down of the relationship between God and mankind, it forces God’s Hands to take extreme measures to compel people to comply or be beaten into submission for their own good. And this also prevents a worse and bigger relentless disaster.    maxresdefault
Left to human devices, the status quo was alright as far as people are concerned. However, from God’s perspective life has taken a turn not pleasing to God. Often some people think God is archaic and draconian so no longer relevant in modern sophisticated society. The irony is that, whether mankind heeds God’s warning signs or not God does exactly as HE says. Once again, the New Year has started and to some it is business as usual. However, the trends and challenges faced globally are all part of God’s Sat Nav warning systems of the directions making is heading in general. There are numerous warnings and the Bible clearly speaks of action God is taking to enforce changes if mankind refuses to change or submit to God’s Authority’s and Rule. It is not a choice of whether one believes in God or not, but rather imminent global storms, thunders, floods, fires, hailstorm, meteorites among ammunitions used by God to force people to rethink their choices and actions in life.london-1666.jpg
These warnings signs are clearly written in Revelations in the Bible yet most people unaware of the connection between daily life occurrences, weather impact and future eternal life. Every action by all the people on earth are meticulously documented by God in the Book of Life. Take a look at storm patterns and weather charts, earthquakes, volcanoes in the world and definitely things are alarmingly different. Consequences of mankind’s ‘evil inventions’ as God calls them distorted nature and has brought about irreparable damage to earth. Global toxic waste polutions among chem trails destroy natural weather patterns, food chain and carbon cycles essential for food remedies for good health. The pursuit of happiness as, ” lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God” is extended into seeking adventure at all cost even if the environment is destroyed. So unpredictable storms, floods, sand dunes, rapid coastal erosions, ice mcap melting are all assigned as “the acts of God” of God. Although God is not responsible for the root causes of the damages and the destruction it accurate and correct to say God put actions in place by laws of nature violated implodes800px-Keeling-fire-engine-illustrationkeeling-fire-engineMoLFireEngineEdit_install
Therefore, whether religious or not “God Corrects those HE LOVES.  It seems harsh to say, burnt down places, floods, tsunamis destroying expensive homes and the nuclear tragedy suffered as a result is “love.” But the alternative of not taking notice to reflect eventually culminates into worse disaster than London fire or Sodom and Gomorrah. This is because these places are rebuilt and restored even better than before and exist today. Despite the destructions life continues fairly normally like any place on earth. However, the difference unfolding now is the end time warnings taking place now will continue until some parts have no relief so cannot be rebuilt. Tragically, it is not only physical suffering material loss, famines, droughts, poverty, wars, death, it is fulfilment of the warnings of God’s Wrath in the Bible. Sadly, these Biblical messages and warnings often mocked as religious fundamentalism so ignored. Yet unless people begin to listen and reconnect with God there is perpetual unquenchable hellfire and damnation without reprieve or second chance to rebuild. Only God knows exact days of unfolding WRATH so worth taking life seriously to be God’s Chosen Children. All people are God’s creatures but all are not God’s Children who will live in God’s Kingdom through KING JESUS eternal Reign. Know difference and be saved from total annihilation and subsequent hell fire in Jesus Name.

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

woman running in mountainsPeople make New Year’s resolutions to keep fit and pray more, read Bible every day, attend church regularly. These are fantastic goals yet New Year resolutions fail as often as non-spiritual resolutions because there is no power in New Year’s resolution. Resolving to start, stop doing certain activity has no value unless with proper motivation to stop or start that activity. For example, why do you want to read Bible every day? Is it to honour God and grow spiritually or because you feel and heard it is good to do so? Why do you want to lose weight? Is it to honour God with your body or is it for vanity to honour self-image, to impress others to find you more attractive to fall in love? Is it for a genuine reason to lose weight if delivered of baby? Isaiah 65:17 says behold God will create new heaven and new earth and so former things not be remembered or come into mind.

Make things happen, concept words

Philippians 4:13 tells us, “I can do all through Christ who gives me strength.” John 15:5 declares, “I am the Vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit apart from me you can do nothing.” If God is at the center of your New Year’s resolution, it has chance for success, depending on your commitment to it. If it is God’s will for something to be done and fulfilled HE will enable you to fulfill it. If a resolution is not God honouring or in agreement in God’s Word we will not receive God’s help in fulfilling the resolution. So, what sort of New Year’s resolution should a Christian make? Here are some suggestions: (1) pray to the LORD God for wisdom (James 1:5) in regards to what resolutions HE would have you make; (2) pray for wisdom as to how to fulfill the goals God gives you; (3) rely on God’s Strength to help you; (4) find an accountability partner who will help you and encourage you; (5) do not become discouraged with relapse or set backs or occasional failures, instead allow them to motivate you further; (6) do not become proud or vain but give God the GLORY. Psalm 37:5-6 also says, “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in HIM to bring things to pass and to make your righteousness shine like the dawn and the justice of your cause bright like the noonday sun. 2 Chronicles 29:17 says, begin the first day of the first month sanctify yourself and on eighth day of month come to the porch of the LORD God Almighty. Sanctify the House of the LORD on eighth day and the sixteenth day of the first month make end to sanctification. Best-10-New-Years-resolutions

To learn a language some reel off  on a list of the typical resolutions made and broken. To know for certain resolutions you are more likely to keep you must do certain things. You decide resolutions you should make but research reveals some clues as to how you should carry them out. There is evidence humans are driven by “loss aversion” that is, more motivated to recover loss than to win gains. That means prevention is better than Cure. Framed resolution to recover something lost is old hobby and former level of fitness is more effective looking than gaining new ability or appearance. This feeds into key piece of advice for a successful resolution is be real: SMART = Specific + Achievable + Measurable + Realistic + Timed. Ensure you keep up with resolution, willing to receive help, feedback to update you on progress. If possible get professional help or friends trained in area of interest to you. Learn to adapt and accept tough changes as it is said, crucify your flesh to endure or no pain no gain. Life is full of challenges so be firm and disciplined with yourself. If you indulge in calories in a day that takes years to shift you cannot expect an overnight miracle. Be practical avoid tempting places attractive for relapse. IMG_20180102_124928

Pope Francis’ Top New Year Resolution: Take care of your spiritual life and your relationship with God, because this is the backbone of everything we do and everything we are.”

– “Take care of your family life, giving your children and loved ones not just money, but most of all your time, attention and love.”

– “Take care of your relationships with others, transforming your faith into life and your words into good works, especially on behalf of the needy.”

– “Be careful how you speak, purify your tongue of offensive words, vulgarity and worldly decadence.”

– “Heal wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness, forgiving those who hurt us and put balm of Gilead on all wounds we cause others.”

– “Look after your work, doing it with enthusiasm, humility, competence, passion and with a spirit that knows how to thank the Lord.”

– “Be careful of envy, lust, hatred and negative feelings that devour our interior peace and transform us into destroyed and destructive people.”

– “Watch out for anger that can lead to vengeance; for laziness that leads to existential euthanasia; for pointing the finger at others, which leads to pride; and for complaining continually, which leads to desperation.”

– “Take care of brothers and sisters who are weaker … the elderly, the sick, the hungry, the homeless and strangers, because we will be judged on this.”IMG_20180102_125950

Involve other people

Dr John Michael, a philosopher at Warwick University, studies the social factors involved in making and keeping commitments. He says its more likely to keep resolutions if we see them as being somehow important to other people or “other people’s wellbeing is at stake” if we fail. That might mean committing to attend a class with a friend. The effect could be stronger if you have to pay in advance once we feel someone has invested time and money in something, we are more likely to see through our commitments. Dr Michael is currently testing the theory some more motivated to prevent loss to other people than to themselves. Early evidence from this work suggests people more motivated do continue a boring or a difficult task somebody else has invested effort in.reinvent

Specific Reputation

Reputation is also a powerful motivator. Making resolutions public helps to keep them since for fear people will think less or worse of you if not see through so add reputation to your resolve. “We don’t want reputation as unreliable, so publicly announcing plan is motivating. Challenge people go dare you bet to do it still more motivating,” says Prof Neil Levy at University of Oxford. Willpower is not enough and so make a detailed resolution is necessary and important, he adds. Say, “I’ll go to gym on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings” is more likely to be successful than simply saying “I’ll go to gym more” according to Prof Levy. He recommends intentions to specific cues called ‘implementation of intentions.’ If you want to really learn a language, you first resolve to listen to language-learning podcast on commute each morning. Then, to improve your chances of success further make sure you stick a note to the steering wheel of your car each night to remind you to play it on your journey in the morning. You’re not just making a intention but setting out steps to implement it too.IMG_20180102_125915

Making exceptions

He warns of the potential for “decisions to become precedents.” “Implicitly we recognise exceptions (I won’t go to the gym if the house is on fire). But we can exploit this to detriment by expanding exceptional circumstances. A birthday is legitimate so comes once a year. If I start recognising exceptional things that occur more often its last week of month better to start on the first or it’s too cold to get out of bed early. Making excuses so everything becomes an exception,” Prof Levy says. Make your resolutions part of your longer-term plans and so some things have to be on a list for life.AAEAAQAAAAAAAAZjAAAAJGNkM2Y3YTEwLWQ0MGItNDFiZi1hZTRlLWM0OWMwYTMxM2U0NwAcceptance Quotes8IMG_20180102_121822

Make longer-term plans

For Dr Anne Swinbourne, a behavioural psychologist at James Cook University, Australia, the best resolutions are ones that achieve a chunk of a longer-term plan you have for yourself, rather than those that are vague and aspirational. If you’ve never shown an interest in sport, resolving to become a brilliant athlete is unlikely to stick and so resolving to save money because you’ve always dreamed of travelling the world before you turn 50 might be more successful. Keeping them is about planning, she says. Work out triggers and negative behaviour you want to discourage and also put positive behaviour to encourage in place. If you want to drink less alcohol, plan to meet friends for coffee but not in pub. People who rely only on willpower mostly fail according to Dr Swinbourne. To keep a resolution, you have to be so meticulous and have a plan.” Ensure you time each activity within overall schedules, adapt to change by keeping it simple. Do not overwhelm yourself with multitasking resolutions impossible to achieve. Start and do not despise small beginnings.
