ANOREXIA DAMAGES BODY

Lizzie Porter lived with anorexia throughout her teens. Now in late 20s, she’s been discovering that those years of starvation have left a lasting imprint on her body. “You have osteoporosis in your spine and osteopenia in your hip. I’m going to put you on calcium and vitamin D and I think you should take them forever. We need to prevent breaks and fractures.” It is May 2018, and my doctor’s words jolt me out of a long-standing state of denial. They come with a set of complicated graphs, which apparently show my low bone density. I don’t understand them. But I can read the words printed next to a fuzzy X-ray-like picture of my spine: “World Health Organization classification: osteoporosis. Fracture risk: high.” For years, I have muddled along, pretending to myself that I had pretty much made a full recovery from anorexia. Yes, I was told back in 2010 that I had osteoporosis. But over the next eight years I persuaded myself that things must have improved, that the holes in my spine must have healed.

Sadly, they haven’t.

Osteoporosis and osteopenia

  • Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones lose their strength and are more likely to break
  • If your bone density is between the lower end of the normal range and the osteoporosis range, you have osteopenia.

I was first diagnosed with anorexia at the age of 12, and soon experienced its unglamorous consequences. As summers grew hotter, I shivered: I was like a reptile, unable to generate my own body heat. In winter, my skin cracked and bled, but would not heal, for want of nutrition. I had constipation, bloating and my hair fell out in great clumps. My life revolved around avoiding food.  Over the past 15 years, I have had two in-patient stints in hospital and taken thousands of antidepressants – anorexia is often accompanied by a low mood, sometimes even a suicidal mood is one reason it has the highest mortality rate of all psychiatric disorders. I have seen more doctors than I can be bothered to remember. I have done my best to keep what my mother calls the “anorexic minx” in my mind in check, preventing it from doing a Jack-in-the-Box-style bounce back into my life. The desire to get on with things has spurred me to give up many of my anorexic behaviour patterns. Time was, I would spend hours weighing out salad components in the kitchen, using a different knife to chop each tomato, cucumber and lettuce leaf. I no longer want to waste time on my old routines. And, mostly, I do not.

Anorexia caused my body to age rapidly and I am struggling with the disorder’s longer-term consequences. Osteoporosis involves loss of bone density, and in later life may lead to painful breakages, curvature of the spine, and loss of height. Although it has many causes and often affects post-menopausal women, anorexics are also at risk, especially girls who develop the illness at puberty when the body is trying to build a strong skeleton. For a day or so, the bone scans shake me awake. I walk around the Lebanese capital Beirut, where I live, feeling a bit sick. What am I doing to myself? The thought rolls over in my mind. I remember one elderly woman in my home village in Hertfordshire, who used to walk bent double. Osteoporosis is an old ladies’ problem, I tell myself angrily. I am only 27. Yet all too soon I return to my state of calm apathy. I pretend that my bones aren’t really thin and weak. I’m strong and perfectly healthy, I tell myself, even though I am on calcium and Vitamin D supplements for life, I get dizzy when I stand up, and blood tests show I have been suffering badly from anaemia – a lack of red blood cells or haemoglobin in the blood. To improve my bone density I should eat more and gain a little weight. But my life is “too busy” to deal with the stress of challenging the last remnants of my anorexic behaviour. I still add up my daily calorie count on a calculator, and I am prone to lash out at anyone who forces to me to eat things I am scared of, such as cake, pastry and cream. This year I have at least allowed a friend to coax me into ordering salad with oil – this fills me with pride, though at the same time I feel ashamed of years I spent worrying over salad dressing. But I need to go further. Osteoporosis is not the only long-term effect of my anorexia. The loss of bone density has also affected my teeth, which ache and easily rot. Since the beginning of the year I have spent £4,200 ($5,500) on dental treatment, including eight fillings, root canal treatment, two crowns and an implant.

“The lack of calcium and vitamin D is definitely contributing to this,” says my doctor – a GP who happens to be a specialist in eating disorders. One upshot of my weak teeth and gums is that after years of being subject to psychological barriers that restricted my diet, I now have physical ones. Anything chewy, crunchy or cold is almost impossible to eat. Can you recover from anorexia?

  • A 2002 study found that 46% of patients made a full recovery, a third improved (but retained some eating disorder symptoms), and 20% remained chronically ill over the long term
  • The eating disorder charity, Beat, says recovery is always possible with the right help and support – but what recovery looks like is individual to the person
  • It adds that most medical complications arising from anorexia are reversible, but not all – for example, osteoporosis

It is difficult to predict how badly anorexia will affect each sufferer’s long-term health: bodies react in different ways. Other possible long-term effects can include infertility and difficulty conceiving, heart problems, and kidney and liver complications, according to the UK-based eating disorders charity, Beat. “I don’t think people realise the dangers of the illness and its physical and mental consequences, including the suicide risk. I know it frightens people, but we need to know the facts,” says Jane Smith, chief executive of the UK-registered charity Anorexia and Bulimia Care. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines for treating anorexia instruct doctors to explain to sufferers that the main way of preventing and treating low bone density is “reaching and maintaining a healthy body weight or BMI for their age.”If I am entirely honest with myself, I know I have to try a little bit harder if I am to minimise the long-term consequences of anorexia. I certainly cannot go backwards. I have enough purpose in my life to want to live it. I have a job as a journalist that I love, friends I trust, and parents who support my every move. One morning this May, one of my closest friends, Leila, sent me a WhatsApp message in response to one of my many rants. I was tired and fed-up with life. “I’m not going to tell you a few kilos won’t make you fat, because that’s what’s in your head,” she wrote. “I’m going to tell you that you get to choose between being ‘fat’ and functioning, or thin and bed-bound. You get to be thin but your life is over. That’s all there is to it.”

What can I say? Most of me knows she is right.

JESUS IS THE LION OF JUDAH

The New Testament in Revelation 5:5: says “one elder said to John, weep not for the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll book to loose seven seals.” Jesus Christ is the ONLY One found Worthy Lion of Judah to count on among the Christians to open the scroll in heaven. Jesus, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, KING of Kings and Lord of lord’s overcame prowling demons devouring believers. Bible in Daniel 6:1-28 said administrator satrap’s exceptional qualities made king plan to set him a ruler over his whole kingdom. Administrators and satraps were jealous so tried to find charges against Daniel in his government affairs did not find anything against him for he is trustworthy, not corrupt or negligent.  5 The men cannot find charges against Daniel unless something to do with law of God.” The administrators and satrap group told king Darius, live forever! So the royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers, governors connived the king must issue an edict and enforce a decree anyone who prays to a god or human being in next thirty days, except to the king, shall be thrown in the lion’s den. 8 So issue a decree and write it so it cannot be altered in accordance with law of Medes and Persians or repealed. King Darius put the decree in writing. 10 Daniel learned decree was published so he went home upstairs in room with the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God as he had done always. 11 The men in group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. 12 So they went to the king and spoke to him about royal decree published that during the next thirty days anyone praying to his God or human being except to you, would be thrown into the lion’s den?” The king said, “The decree stands in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, so cannot be repealed.” 13 They said to the king, “Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day.” 14 When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he wanted to rescue Daniel so made every effort until sundown to save him. 15 The men told King Darius, “Remember, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict a king issues can be changed.” 16 So the king gave the order so they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” 17 A stone was brought and placed over mouth of den, and king sealed it with his own signet ring and the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed. 18 The king returned to his palace, spent the night without eating, entertainment and he could not sleep. 19 At first light of dawn the king got up and hurried to the lion’s den. 20 He came near den, called Daniel in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually rescued you from the lions?” 21 Daniel said, “King live forever! 22 My God sent his angel to shut mouths of the lions so did not hurt me, because I was innocent in HIS sight. Have I done any wrong before your majesty?” 23 The king overjoyed and orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he trusted in his God. 24 At king’s command the men who falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into lions’ den, along with their wives and children. Before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones. 25 King Darius wrote to all nations and people of every language in all the earth: “May you prosper greatly!

26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.

“For he is the living God
    and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
    his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
    he performs signs and wonders
    in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
    from the power of the lions.”

28 Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and reign of Cyrus the Persian.behold-he-is-coming-the-lion-of-the-tribe-of-15304741The Bible says Jesus Lion of Judah has defeated the devil prowling like a lion looking for those to devour. The devil targets people to destroy if God permits it according to Jeremiah 50:7 to force those devoured by adversaries to run to God. They offend not, used against those who sin against God separated by their sin abandoned God fulfill God’s designs to plague them into submission to God. And 1 Peter 5:8 says, be alert, be sober because enemy the devil prowls around be vigilant to defeat adversary the devil, roaring like lion, walking about, seeking those to devour so watch in Jesus Name. The devil is not a real lion like Lion of the tribe of Judah but tries to act like a powerful being, deceiving people and misleading them to sin for destruction by God. Some people perish for lack of accurate real true knowledge that saves and protects them from the devil. This is important to test the spirits to know if it from God. Anyone that does not confess the Name of Jesus the Lion of Judah is at risk from judgement from God as Bible says. Often the lion is described as king of jungle forest as it behaves towards the other animals, fearless, intimidates preys on victims, scares and pounces on them unexpectedly. Yet at times the lion is conquered and killed by these other animals too. POWER pass power so the lion has limits in the PRESENCE of God. This is why Daniel’s life was preserved by God and he survived the enemy’s evil plans against him due to jealousy. In the same way God delivers all who call Lion of Tribe of Judah, Jesus’ Mighty Name so saved from evil covered by His BLOOD in victory. GLORY to God.

PRAYER: Psalm 6

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
    or discipline me in your wrath.
Have mercy on me, Lord, I feel faint,  heal me, Lord my bones are in agony.
My soul is in deep anguish.
    How long, Lord, how long?

Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.
Among the dead no one proclaims your name. Who praises you in grave?

I am worn out from groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.

My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
    they fail because of all my foes.

Away from me, all you who do evil,
    for the Lord has heard my weeping.
The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.

PRAYER: Psalm 35

35 Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that device my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation. 10 All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like you who deliveres the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoil him?11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.  12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. 13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. 14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother. 15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, gathered themselves together: yea, the enemies gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: 16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth. 17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. 18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. 19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. 20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. 21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it. 22 This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. 23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my rescue, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. 24 Save me LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. 25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up. 26 Let them be ashamed, brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame, dishonour that magnify themselves against me. 27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. 28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

PRAYER: Psalm 91

91 He who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, HE is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in HIM will I trust. Surely HE shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from noisome pestilence. HE will cover you with HIS feathers, and under HIS wings you will trust: HIS truth shall be your shield and buckler. You will not be afraid of the terror by night; or the arrow that flies by day; Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; or the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with your eyes shall thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because you made the LORD, your refuge, even the most High, your habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall a plague come nigh your dwelling. 11 For HE shall give HIS angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. 12 They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because you hath set your love on ME, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he knows MY NAME. 15 He shall call upon ME, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Praise God.

GOOD & EVIL FAST IN BIBLE

Proven health benefits of fasting

Bible verses on fasting help decide the kind of fast and purpose of fast. In Luke 4:2-4 Jesus Fasted and Prayed 2 for forty days and was then tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days so was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God then turn stones into bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written man shall not live bread alone.’ Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29 in the Bible evil spirits of that kind is only driven out by prayer and fasting. Power of prayer and fasting enables intense time of prayer with God to focus more to seek the Face of God to become more empowered and receive God’s direction to take action. Except by prayer, answers and miracles from God are unattainable, hindered by spiritual wickedness in high places. Fasting is a Biblical normal part of Christian life in obedience for God to hear and answer prayer when HE wants to do so. People fast for various reasons in Bible, based on circumstances God is sought after. Prayer for breakthrough breaks barrier through power of the Holy Spirit’s outpouring. Fasting is part of God’s warfare strategy to defeat the demons of rebellion, pride, witchcraft, poverty and lack. When evil witchcraft spiritual attacks unfold God’s POWER manifest to destroy it in the Mighty Name of Jesus. The evil curses and witchcraft spells are broken and removed in the Name of Jesus to get solution to live in peace and experience healing from God in Jesus Name. Before starting a fast if you have any health or medical problems check with a doctor if on medication. A person starting fast, if first time, especially the young children fast half a day drinking water or fruit juice praying from 6am-12 noon is more than enough for God to answer prayer. If there are no health problems the next level is a full day fasting with water or fruit juice, to help the body to cope with withdrawal of food. If prayer or fasting lasts for three days it is wise to drink water or fruit juice to ensure the body is healthy and coping well. Jesus the Son of God’s body lasted without food for 40 days. An ordinary human body must be careful because the body lasts from two days to a week without liquids but the person’s health, weather and individual physical activity levels help determine how long a person lasts without water. Estimating how long bodies do without food or water tends to depend on weeks worth of reserve energy from food in the body already. Water regulates body temperature, digestion, waste disposal, hydration, 7 days is the maximum limit the body can cope. God’s General Robert Liardon once said, if prayer and fasting is not heard or answered by God within three days something is seriously wrong so join prayer agreement with matured mentor prayer warriors to deal with the root of persistent problem. If one defeat a thousand and two defeat ten thousand then to see value of corporate prayer in Jesus Name. Stop fasting immediately to seek deliverance and Godly direction to overcome challenges. Never start a dry fast without water and food more than three days unless trained Biblically first to know and understand the reasons for fasting. Do not fast for 7 days without any water or fruit unless you are under the authority and guidance of seasoned pastor among other believers for help or support. Do not copy people bragging of fasting: 10, 14, 21, 40, 70 days to think God will answer your prayer too. There is special reason long fasting is required in group fasting for the religious rituals. Children or sick people must never be forced to fast because you fast on behalf of family. The Bible allows intercession prayer on behalf of family household so everyone cannot be forced to partake in it before God HEARS. A personal prayer Jesus says, go into private closet to pray so God will hear to openly reward you.

Matthew 6:16-18 Fast in Secret

16 “When you fast, do not look sad like hypocrites to disfigure faces to show others you are fasting. Truly I tell you, you will not receive reward from God. 17  When you fast put oil on your head, wash your face 18 so it’s not obvious to others you are fasting, but only Father Goprayerssecret prayers to reward you.

Luke 18:1-12 Persistent Prayer

1 Jesus told his disciples this parable to show them they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: In a certain town was a judge who did not fear God or cared what people thought. 3 There was a widow in town who kept going to him to plea, ‘Grant me justice against enemy’ 4 “For some time he refused but finally said to himself, ‘though I don’t fear God or care what people think because this widow keeps bothering me I will see to it she gets justice, so she won’t bother me’ ”6 The LORD said, “Listen to what an unjust judge says. 7 If so will God not bring justice for HIS chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will HE keep put them off? 8 I tell you, HE will see they get justice quickly. So when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?” 9 Those confident of their own righteousness look down on everyone. Jesus told a parable: 10 “Two men went to temple to pray, a Pharisee and a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed: ‘God, I thank you I am not like others, robbers, evildoers, adulterers or like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give tenth of all that I get.’ An attitude of repentance and humility is essential for God’s intervention to fast:

1. To prepare for ministry. Jesus spent 40 days and nights in wilderness fasting and praying before He did God’s work on earth. He spent time alone preparing for His Father’s work in Matthew 4:1-17; Mark 1:12-13; Luke 4:1-14.

2. To seek God’s wisdom. Paul and Barnabas prayed and fasted for elders of the churches before committing them to the Lord for His service in Acts 14:23.

3. To show grief. Nehemiah mourned, fasted, and prayed when he learned Jerusalem’s walls broke down, leaving the Israelites vulnerable and disgraced in Nehemiah 1:1-4.
4. To seek deliverance or protection. Ezra declared corporate fast and prayed for safe journey for Israelites as they travelled 900 miles to Jerusalem from Babylon in Ezra 8:21-23.

5. To repent. After Jonah’s judgements against Nineveh city, the king covered himself with sackcloth and sat in the dust with people to fast and pray for 40 days. In Jonah 3:10, “God saw how they turned from their evil ways so forgave

6. To gain victory. After losing 40,000 men in battle in two days, the Israelites cried to God for help. In Judges 20:26 the people went to Bethel, “sat weeping before the Lord.” They “fasted that day until evening.” The next day the Lord gave them victory over the Benjamites.

7. To worship God. Luke 2:37 says that 84 year old prophetess Anna never left temple but worshiped God night and day, fasting and praying, devoted to God and fasting expressing love for God.

Daniel 9:3-5 To Return to God

3 I turned to the LORD God and pleaded with HIM in prayer, petition, fasting in sackcloth and ashes. 4 I prayed to LORD God and confessed: “LORD the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant of love with those who love HIM and keep HIS commandments, 5 we sinned, done wrong, been wicked, rebelled so turned away from your commands and laws.

2 Samuel 12:15-17 To Save Lives

15 Nathan went home, the LORD struck the child Uriah’s wife had with David so he became ill. 16 David pleads with God for the child. He fasted, spent nights in sackcloth on the ground. 17 The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and did not eat any food with them.

1 Kings 21:25-27 Godly Humility

Ahab sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, urged on by Jezebel his wife. 26 He behaved in vilest manner by going after idols like Amorites the LORD drove out before Israel. 27 Ahab heard God’s words from prophet Elijah, tore his clothes, put on sackcloth fasted, lay in sackcloth and went around humbly.

Ezra 8:21-23 For Travel Mercy

21 By Ahava river, I proclaimed a fast, to humble ourselves before God and ask HIM for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions. 22  I did not ask the king for soldiers and his horsemen to protect us from enemies on the road, because told the king, “The gracious hand of our God is on all those who look to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him.” 23 So we fasted and petitioned our God on this, and he answered our prayer.

Jonah 3:5-9 To Stop God’s Anger

5 The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth. 6 When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh he rose from throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. 7 This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. 8 But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. 9 Who knows? God may relent with compassion turn from his fierce anger so we will not perish.”1312816044_1101-300x298

Isaiah 58:3-7 Be Kind to People

3 ‘Why did we fast,’ they say and not yet seen result? We humbled ourselves, did you notice?’ “On the day of fasting, you do as you please, exploit your workers. Your fast ends in fighting, strife and in striking others with wicked fists. And so cannot fast that way and expect your voice to be heard by God. 5 Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast day acceptable to the LORD? 6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose chains of injustice to untie the cords of the yoke, to set oppressed free and break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry to provide poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Despite the biblical examples throughout Scripture, the wicked people fast too, using fear, ignorance or rebellion to compel others to indulge in evil actions. Jezebel used a witchcraft magic to influence people to cast mind bending spells to manipulate people to join her to attack Naboth. Like going to native witchdoctors, Baal idol worshippers to fast three days to attack Naboth to kill him for his family land king Ahab coveted after murder. It is necessary to know unbelievers fast to their gods to dedicate themselves and to celebrate their feasts. Spiritualists and a new age meditation fast to cleanse their body and thoughts. Medical treatments requires people to abstain from food for long hours for better access to organs to check in details the damaged tissues. It is used to help some medications work better in the body. Therefore the motive and purpose of a fast is very important before starting fast. It’s good to build up and prepare body well fed in advance if going to fast for a long time. Combining prayer and fasting with deliverance is the best way to achieve best results. It is not the length of days of fasting that is a condition for receiving answer. It is the attitude of repentance, humility, Mercy, Grace, lamentations, Kindness, Favour of God that touches God’s heart to hear and forgive people. God decides time to help in HIS Own way it’s not starvation that forces God to answer prayer. If its starvation that caused God to answer prayer the hungriest people all over the would be most blessed. In addition, the fast must be accompanied by realistic practical solutions available it is not by torturing the flesh that brings miracles. You get closer to God through the Name and the BLOOD of Jesus if a born-again Christian believer. Deliverance through a deeper matured deliverance minister is necessary in extreme cases to be free from demons causing family problems. Some cases need God’s wisdom, support from friends and family and the right organisations. In the western world the resources available can help without a fast. Fasting is for spiritual growth and devotion as well as God’s intervention. Help must be sought through available means spiritually, physically to ensure emotional well-being of those fasting. The devil comes to steal, kill to destroy so check your heart about motives and purpose of your fast. Fasting or praying to covet another person’s spouse, break marriage to marry partner, fast to take another’s property as in Naboth’s case is witchcraft in 1 Kings 21:12. To proclaim fast to take Naboth’s asset is greed, envy and jealousy. Jezebel’s plot got what she wanted from a fast but God ALMIGHTY judged them immediately. In the Bible in Acts 23:12-35 people plot to kill Paul the next morning. Some Jews vowed by oath not to eat or drink until they kill Paul. The fanatics want to kill Paul for believing in resurrection, angels, Holy Spirit did not like his teachings in the Bible. A group of more than forty Jews vowed to kill Paul but he managed to escape on a tip off from his sister’s son. They lied Paul is troublemaker, stirs up riots among Jews all over the world as a ringleader of Nazarene sect to desecrate temple seized him. Agrippa examined him to  learnt truth about false charges against him. The other Jews joined in accusation asserting lies were true. The governor let Paul speak but accusers did not find him arguing with anyone at the temple, stirred crowd in the synagogues or anywhere else in city did not prove charges made. Admits he worshipped God of ancestors, follows of way of laws written in prophets with hope in God as the men in resurrection of the righteous and wicked, his conscience clear before God and man. Paul is sent to Rome after two years so lived and preached until his death during Nero’s rule. Attacks by evil fast makes people hungry, angry and violent so seems to get away with it but years later God judges the bloodlust damage caused to others. You may not later like what you fasted and prayed for. Let God’s words guide you in Spirit and in Truth in Jesus Name to supply all your needs from heaven. Do speak to people despite fasting for God uses human beings to answer prayer or needs in Jesus Name. God will not come down personally physically in front of you to give you the miracles. So speak to people as God may reveal your needs in advance to them to provide your needs through them. Use practical wisdom so not let shame or embarrassment cause you to hide in isolation overwhelmed by fear or frustration in anger against God yet fasting. Its good to fast appropriately as Bible requires but not to ‘crucify’ the flesh recklessly in the Name of God. Fasting alone is not enough in satanic cult deliverance so needs God’s prophet to cast that demon out in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Some problems need Spiritual Father in the LORD to guide and support you. So don’t in silence seek help in Jesus Name. GLORY to God.
