Jesus is the Living Stone rejected by the builders Who became the Cornerstone in Acts 4:11. So 1 Peter 2:5 says, you are the living stones built as a spiritual house and the holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 2:20 God Built on foundation of apostles and prophets as Christ Jesus Himself is Cornerstone. Ezekiel 36 : 26 says, I will give you a new heart and put new spirit in you. I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. In Revelation 2:17, He who has ears let him hear what the Spirit says to Churches. And those who conquer I will give a hidden manna and white stone with new name written on no one knows except one who receives it. Corinthians 10:4, says they drank the same Spiritual drink from the Spiritual Rock Christ. To Church people afflicted in comfortless conditions, I will lay your foundation with precious stones says Isaiah 54:11. So 1 Peter 2:4 says Come to Jesus the Living Stone rejected by men but in Sight of God Chosen and Precious. In Matthew 21:42-44, Jesus said, “Have you not read in Scriptures, “The Stone builders rejected became a Cornerstone this is the LORD’S doing and marvelous in our eyes. In Luke 19:40 Jesus said, ‘I tell you if you are silent stones will cry out. I tell you the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to people producing fruits. Those who fall on this Stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone it will crush him.” Mark 12:10 says, “Have you not read this Scripture, the stone builders rejected has become the Cornerstone?” In Psalm 118:22, The stone the builders rejected has become Cornerstone. The Church, people afflicted in comfortless conditions, I will lay your foundation with precious stones says Isaiah 54:11. “O afflicted one storm-tossed and not comforted I will set your stones to lay foundation with sapphires. Revelations 2:17 says, ‘He who has ears let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ In Luke 19:40 Jesus said, ‘If you are silent these stones will cry out. Matthew 3:9 says do not say ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from stones to raise up children for Abraham. Trust Jesus as 1 John 2:2 says, Jesus is the propitiation for sins and for sins of the whole world. 1 Corinthians 3:11 says no one can lay a foundation than that laid by the Lord Jesus Christ. In Mark 15:46, Matthew 27:60, Joseph bought a linen shroud to wrap Jesus laid him in a tomb cut out of rock and rolled a stone against entrance of the tomb. Heavy stone blocking Jesus’ tomb was rolled away by angels after Jesus arose from death. No stone is too heavy for God’s POWER and Authority against death. Believers in Christ know the gravestone will be removed to make way for Rapture in Jesus Name. Job 5:23 says you will be in league with stones of the field so beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. Daniel 2:34-45 says, The Stone cut from mountain by no human hands strikes image’s feet of iron and clay break them in pieces bronze, silver, and gold kingdoms. God made known the king’s dream interpretation to come. In Isaiah 8:14 Jesus is sanctuary and stone of offense, a rock of stumbling to houses of Israel, a trap and snare to inhabitants of Jerusalem. Jesus is the Stone Who will save His believer’s but crush the other kingdoms on earth. In Romans 9:33, it is written, I am laying in Zion the Stone as a stumbling block and a rock of offense, whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” In Matthew 16:18 Jesus tells Peter, you are the rock on which I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 1 Peter 2:8 says Jesus is the “Stone of stumbling and rock of offense so they stumble because they disobey the Word as destined to do. Isaiah 28:16, Thus says the LORD God, “I AM the ONE WHO laid foundation of Zion’s precious cornerstone foundation, ‘Whoever believes will not perish. Mark 13:1, said Jesus came out of the temple and told His disciple said, Look Teacher wonderful stones and building. The kings commanded in 1 Kings 5:17, quarried great, costly stones to lay the foundation of God’s House with dressed stones. 1 Kings 5:18 Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and men of Gebal did the cutting and prepared the timber and stone to build the house. In 1 Kings 7:9, the costly stones, cut to measure, sawed with saw back and front for the foundations, top and from outside to great court. In 1 Chronicles 22:2, King David commanded resident strangers in the land of Israel to be stonecutters to prepare dressed stones for building the House of God. Solomon in 1 Kings 10:11 received fleet from Hiram, brought gold from Ophir and great amounts of almug wood and precious stones. Despite their grand designs with costly stones people deviated from true Worship of God. And Luke 21:5 says while speaking of temple how it was adorned with noble stones or offerings Jesus said will be destroyed. The temple was destroyed 40 years later and never rebuilt. Luke 19:44 says God tears to the ground, people and children within. So they did not leave stones in you because you did not know time of your visitation.” Luke 21:6 says, “These things you see the days will come when there will not be left no stone upon the other but thrown down. The rejection of Jesus means a spiritual fall like the fall of Temple. Like 2 Kings 19:18, Isaiah 37 :19 pleads they to cast their gods in fire for they were not gods but the works of men’s hands, wood, stone so destroyed. In Acts 19:17-19 residents of Ephesus, Jews and Greeks, fear fell upon them all, and Name of Lord Jesus extolled. Many believers confessed and divulged magic practices brought books burned them in the sight of all counted it’s value as fifty thousand pieces of silver.
Stones are prominent in living history of the Bible. Elijah took twelve stones symbolic of the twelve tribes of Israel to build his altar in the Carmel contest. In Joshua 4:2-9, “Took twelve men from each tribe and command them, saying, ‘Take twelve stones from the midst of the Jordan, from the place the priests’ feet stood firmly, and bring them with you and lay them down in place where you lodge tonight… And Joshua said to them, “Pass before the ark of the LORD God in the midst of Jordan, take a stone upon shoulder according to number of the tribes of the people of Israel, as sign among you. So your children in time to come ask, ‘What do those stones mean to you, Joshua 4:20-24 says those twelve stones, taken out of Jordan Joshua used to set up at Gilgal. He said to the people of Israel, “When your children ask their fathers in times to come, ‘What do these stones mean?’ Let your children know, Israel passed over Jordan on dry ground when the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea HE dried up for us until we passed over. So all people on earth will know the Hand of the LORD God is mighty to you fear the LORD our God forever.”Genesis 28:18-22 says early in the morning Jacob took a stone he put under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. He called the place Bethel but the name of city was Luz at first. Jacob made a vow, “If God will be with me and keep me in this way I go to give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, so I come again to my father’s house in peace, then the LORD will be my God, and this stone set up for pillar, God’s house. And all God gives me I will give a full tenth back to God.” Genesis 31:45-52 says Jacob took a stone and set it up as a pillar and said to his kinsmen, “Gather stones so they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there by the heap. Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed. Laban said, “This heap is witness between you and me today named Galeed and Mizpah, for he said, “The LORD watch between you and me out of one another’s sight. In 1 Samuel 7:12, Samuel took a stone set up between Mizpah and Shen and called name Ebenezer for he said, “The LORD has always helped us.” And in 1 Samuel 17:40 David took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from brook and put them in his shepherd’s pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine Goliath struck down with a stone on his forehead. 1 Chronicles 20:8, these were descendants from the giants in Gath so they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants. Exodus 28:9-21 described two onyx stones engraved with names of the sons of Israel six of their names on one stone, and the remaining six on other stone, in order of their birth. As jeweler engraves signets, engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel enclose them in settings of gold filigree. You shall set the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel. Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD on shoulders for remembrance in prayers. And a New Jerusalem from heaven comes to earth with same twelve stones as engraved on priest’s breastplates in Exodus 35:27 the leaders brought onyx, stones for ephod and for gold rims of breastpiece. God’s foundation stones of city wall adorned by precious stones: jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst” in Revelation 21:19–20. The breastplate as New Jerusalem of God considered beautiful and glorifying. Heaven’s brilliant splendour of streets paved with gold and divine jewels in foundations. God considers colours and materials important in glorifying HIM. Revelation 21:11 reveals GLORY of God’s radiance jewel like jasper clear crystal. Revelation 4:1-11 describes door of open in heaven and first voice like a trumpet said, “Come and I will show you what will take place after. I was in the Spirit and saw Throne in heaven with God seated on Throne. HE had appearance of jasper, carnelian, around throne was rainbow appearance with emerald. Around God’s Throne, 24 elders, seated on twenty-four thrones clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. Out of Throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder. Before God’s Throne burning seven torches of fire are seven spirits of God. In Exodus 34:1 the LORD told Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like first so I will write 10 Commandments on tablets like the first tablets you broke in anger against people’s idolatry. The lesson in 1 John 4:1 is, don’t believe every spirit but test spirits to see if they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. The Hebrews people needed to know the difference between Yahweh and idols. Joshua 8:32, in the presence of people of Israel wrote on stones copy of laws of Moses. In Joshua 24:25 he made covenant with the people that day and gave them statutes, rules to them at Shechem. Zechariah 3:9 says, on the stone set before Joshua a stone with seven eyes, engrave inscription declares the LORD of hosts and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day. The servant of the LORD took Book of Law of Moses, made an altar of uncut stones without man’s wielded iron tool. They offered burnt offering to the LORD GOD and sacrificed peace offerings. Malachi 3:10 says, Bring all tithes to storehouse of God for food in my house. Put ME to test says the LORD of hosts to see I will open the windows of heaven to pour blessings until there is no more room for storage. Stones used for altars for God or sacred stool in Scotland or Stonehenge circles burial or shrines. Deuteronomy 21:18-21 says a stubborn rebellious child not obedient to voice of father or mother take them to city gate to be stoned to death by elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives. They shall say to elders of his city, ‘our son is stubborn and rebellious did not obey our voice is a glutton and drunkard.’ All the men of the city stone him to death with stones to purge evil from your midst and Israel shall hear and fear. This law influenced cruelty to children and honour killings like Steven in Bible in Acts 8:1-40 Paul or Saul approved stoning. There arose a great persecution against the Church in Jerusalem scattered throughout regions of Judea and Samaria, except apostles. Devout men buried Stephen and made lamentation over him. Saul ravaging the church entered houses dragged men and women committed to prison. Those who scattered about preached the word. Philip went to city of Samaria proclaims Jesus to them. And Jesus saved woman caught in adultery from similar stoning told go and sin no more in John 8:1-59. Jesus is kind-hearted as people in Luke 11:11 give good gifts to children to eat fish not serpent or bread not stones, so is God pleased to give good gifts to all HIS Children. The greatest gift God gives is Eternal life-like Jesus saved mad man in Mark 5:5 who night and day in tombs on mountains cried out cut himself with stones. Yet recognised and worshipped Jesus the mad man cast away stones to receive Living Stone Jesus. Ecclesiastes 3:5 says there is time to cast away stone and time to gather stones. Matthew 4:1-6:34 said Jesus led by the Spirit into the wilderness tempted by the devil after 40 days and nights fasting was hungry, told ‘If you are the Son of God command the stones to become loaves of bread.’ Jesus answered, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the Mouth of God.’ In John 8:58-59, Then Jews came to Jesus and said you are not yet fifty years old but seen Abraham? Jesus said to them, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I Am. So they took stones to cast at him but He hid himself and went out of the temple, going through their midst and passed by. Jesus faced many challenges since His birth and throughout His Ministry but many people saved including Jews advised to continue in the Word and in the Way as Yeshua Messiah taught His believers. Thank God and Jesus for our salvation.
