Bible in Acts 17:11, Paul and companions went to Berea in Athens. During the visit taught the Berean Jews, Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bereans Jews listened, read the Bible so were said to be more noble in character than those in Thessalonica. They received the Gospel message with great eagerness and examined Scriptures every day to see if Paul’s teachings true. In 17:12, As a result many of the Bereans believed, as did a number of prominent the Greek women and many Greek men. Paul and Silas in arriving in Berea often went to the Jewish synagogue. Through Amphipolis and Apollonia, Thessalonica, wherever there was a Jewish synagogue. as was his custom, Paul went into the synagogues, and on three Sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving why the Messiah suffered and rose from the dead. Paul continued by saying that, ” This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,” Some of the Jews were persuaded and so joined Paul and Silas, including a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite some of the few prominent women. John 3:36 says, Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son of God shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. It is good people believe in Christ so saved for God made JESUS CONDITION for the salvation of all mankind. The choice to accept Jesus frees people from Wrath of God to come upon the unsaved. Despite the great advantage of salvation, some actually become angry and offended by the Gospel Good News to save them. So the other Jews jealous rounded up some characters from a marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas to bring them to the crowd. But when they did not find Paul, Timothy and Silas, dragged Jason and some other believers before city officials, shouting: “These men cause trouble all over the world came here, and Jason welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar’s decrees, saying there is another King called Jesus.” When they heard this the crowd and city officials were thrown into turmoil. They made Jason and the others post bond and let them go.Jason’s house in Thessalonica was used as place of refuge by apostles Paul, Silas, and Timothy. The non-believing Jews in Thessalonica stirred up riot so Jason was arrested when the city authorities could not locate neither Paul nor Silas, made to post bail. Jews in Thessalonica learnt a high ranking member of Sanhedrin Paul was preaching the word of God at Berea, some of them went there too, agitating the crowds and stirring them up. So the believers immediately sent Paul away to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed at Berea. Then escorted Paul and brought him to Athens and then instructed Silas and Timothy to join Paul at Jason home. Throughout Paul’s ministry he travelled to Amphipolis and Apollonia, then came to Thessalonica, into Jewish synagogues. Paul regularly went into synagogues and reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving why the Messiah suffered and rose from the dead so their TRUE MESSIAH expected in prophecy. So Jesus proclaimed to Jews as True Messiah made some change mind to accept Jesus. Some Jews were persuaded so joined Paul and Silas together with a large number of the God-fearing Greeks and quite a few prominent women supporting Paul.Yet you win some and lose some so other Jews jealous rounded up bad characters from market place, formed a mob to riot in city. They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas bring to crowd but did not find them. So dragged Jason and other believers before city officials, shouting: “These men cause trouble all over world came here, Jason welcomed them into his house. Accused of defying Caesar’s decrees, saying there is another King, called Jesus.” When they heard it the crowd and city officials were thrown into turmoil. Then they made Jason and the others post bond and let them go. It was the state of affairs of the city which bothered Paul. So were sincerely wrong in their belief of their unknown God by mixing idolatory with desire to love God.Paul in Athens, was greatly distressed to see the city was full of idols. So reasoned in synagogues with Jews, God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there. So a group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to debate with him. Some asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” Others remarked, “He seems to be advocating foreign gods.” They said this because Paul was preaching Gospel Good News about Jesus and resurrection. Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, “May we know what is this new teaching is that you are presenting? You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we would like to know what they mean.” Athenians and foreigners who lived there spend time talking about and listening to the latest ideas.Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see in every way you are very religious. It was observed by Paul as he walked about, looked carefully at objects of worship he saw an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. Paul told them they were ignorant of the very thing worshipped so going to proclaim KNOWN GOD to them. Paul told them, “God made this world and everything in it, the LORD of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands but Visits temple. God is not served by human hands, as if HE needed anything rather HE HIMSELF gives everyone life, breath, everything a person needs. From the one man Adam God made all nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.God Wants people to seek HIM and reach out for HIM and find HIM, though HE is not far from any one of us. ‘For in HIM we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets say, ‘We are LORD God offspring.’ “Therefore as God’s offspring we should not think man – made objects from gold or silver or stone, image made by human design skill represent the ONE TRUE LORD GOD in Heaven. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now HE commands all people everywhere to repent. For HE SET A DAY when HE will judge the world with justice by Jesus HE APPOINTED. HE GIVES proof of this to all by raising Jesus from death.” When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this subject.”After Paul left Council meeting, some of the people became the followers of Paul and believed. Among them Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus and woman named Damaris, and a number of others. The council called in Acts 17:5 assembly of people included in Acts 17:28 known Cretan philosopher Epimenides and the Cilician Stoic philosopher Aratus. These were great men of their era so no matter powerful position, rank, status, title, or material possessions, location on earth LORD God made provision for all people to benefit from His Salvation Plan for all mankind. Though Jews love God in their own way, Paul a Jew, taught fellow Jews in Synagogues their need of Jesus as the Saviour of all mankind. As world events simultaneously point to end- time signs of birth pangs, good like philosophers to Examine Scriptures to Know the Truth of the KNOWN GOD ALMIGHTY in Christ as required to be personally saved to escape Wrath of God going to take place. So the message of the Gospel Good News is for all people to decide personally. There is going to be time when there is so much information highway and the knowledge of God will abound. All over the world the Spirit of God is Moving, all over world a prophet of God telling good news all over the world there is a mighty revelation of the Spirit of the LORD God as the waters cover sea. This means it is easier to Examine and search Scripture in line with GOD’S SALVATION plan to make up own mind to serve ALMIGHTY God. People will know the truth and be set free in the name of Jesus Christ. So nobody will force another person to go seek God because everyone will Know the KNOWN GOD ALMIGHTY themselves so approach God directly through Jesus His Son. For Christian believers, Jesus Christ is their only way of SALVATION.
