Jessica Cox received special blessing from Pope after receiving a Guinness World Record for being the first licensed armless pilot Barcroft Media. Guiness Book Records, and documents the armless woman pilot who flies planes with her feet among her other great achievements. So she refuses to let disability hold her back from doing anything in life. Jessica Cox, is also black belt in Tae Kwon Do, said: “People saw her not having arms as a limiting factor but proves them wrong. Some, due to several factors seriously affected and limited by lack of arms. Yet having no arms did not stop Jessica Cox. Jessica is American and the world’s first armless black belt in the American Taekwondo Association. She was born without arms due to a rare birth defect caused by drug Thalidomide taken by pregnant women to stop morning sickness. Born February 2, 1983, Sierra Vista, Arizona USA. Went to University of Arizona and so studied Psychology. Lives in USA her permanent residence Arizona, USA but she travels worlwide. The inspirational 32-year-old is a pilot, who earned a Guinness World Record when she became the first woman to fly a plane with her feet. Proving disability for her is no barrier, she was the first armless black belt in the American Tae Kwon Do Association. But she considers finding true love among her biggest achivements. And with husband Patrick Chamberlain’s help Jessica is inspiring others around the world by publicly speaking about her remarkable life. Once Jessica wore prosthetics when she was young, but ditched them at age 14, and uses her feet as most people use their hands. Jessica said: “There’s nothing that can substitute the tactile ability of flesh and bone – and my feet have that ability.”She drives a car without modifications, types on a keyboard and even plays two full duets with Patrick, 30. She has does not let her disability limit her in any way and has always active since childhood. Jessica said: “Naturally people saw me not having arms as a limiting factor but she was there to prove them wrong. “At 3 years old was involved in gymnastics, at 6 started tap dancing lessons, and did modelling, swam at 5 and at 10 years old was doing Tae Kwon Do, so does every activity one could imagine. ” Jessica says she does not have problems texting with her toes. Married, 5 years ago Jessica met husband, Patrick Chamberlain, through mutual love for Tae Kwon Do. Jessica said: “Patrick, was 4th degree black belt and teaching a class with my friend, and we hit it off right away. So got to know each other on an instructor student basis and met outside of school at times during the social gatherings attended.“Though moved on to a different Tae Kwon Do school eventually and he asked her out and the rest is history.” Patrick said: “Jessica and I had been dating for several months when I decided that she was the woman he was going to marry. So unrelenting, positive, unstoppable, and has opened eyes to new possibilities since the day he met her. Jessica writing with her feet Barcroft Media. She writes stuff often so Jessica uses her toes to hold a pen. And Jessica and Patrick were married in 2012, live together in Tucson, Arizona, so lives her life independently. She said, she faces challenges when it comes to learning how to get dressed, but it was a trial and error process. “We started off mounting hooks on the walls and so would hang clothes on the hooks and wiggle her way into them. So the hooks would sometimes create holes in her clothes and it was hard to have the hook in public restrooms to get dressed.Jessica lives a fulfilled life as any other can do. She is a strong woman who does not let disability ruin her life. She is also fearfully and wonderfully made by God to show God HIS Marvellous Beauty in GOD’S Image. What a great testimony of her beautiful accomplishments bringing hope to all people to encourage them. So wonderful to know her inner strength to do all that she wants to do. Also society benefits from disabled people so highly valued equally relevant members of society. Jessica is able feed herself too.So needed to get dressed so has a new hook that has a suction on it and it has been with me since I was 18-years old. Jessica does scuba diving deep sea. She dives in though seen as armless does not allow lack of arms to hinder her. Jessica does not let disability stop her from her engaging in sport of scuba diving.”That was one of her biggest challenges, but very independent, the only thing she really needs help with doing her hair. “Patrick learnt to do a very nice ponytail, bun and braid it is very special because he realised how much it annoyed her to have her hair in her face. Jessica earned a Guinness World Record in 2008 when she received pilot’s licence becoming the first woman to fly airplane with her feet. She said: “It took 3 years, 3 different airplanes, three instructors, 80 hours of flying in three states and is a certified pilot.”Jessica even flawlessly plays the piano and has completed two duets with her husband. Jessica Cox makes the bed with husband Patrick her True love. So Jessica says she leads normal life with husband Patrick. She said: “Right now the couple learning popular Frozen song, Let It Go” difficult one but will get it.”The couple works and travels together so touring the world because Jessica gives motivational speeches. Jessica added: “Patrick and her work together as a team so able to motivate other people.”She gets to be the one in the spotlight but it would not happen if he wasn’t there as her manager helping me with media. So is encouraging others with similar lack of arms or disabilities that makes her feel she brings hope and joy to others. Recently she met a little girl who never met someone without arms surprised to know others exist looking like herself. She just told little girl that she is going to be okay by giving her confidence, that is what she is really passionate about. “So she loves reaching out to children and letting them know that they can do anything.”And while children might also be in their future, right now they plan to continue to inspire others. Jessica said: “If she did have a child without arms, we would not hesitate to live life fine without arms. So has many years to spend together to also start family to continue to travel world. For now wants to bring speaking to other countries to change people’s attitude to disability. Many people with disability are not able to achieve as much as they will like to do in life. Jessica has proved to the world that the sky is the limit. Where there is adequate support to help and necessary resources for a disabled person to do what they are able to do. Without pressure on them to function to perform without the support given Jessica by her husband. Many help and employ disabled people so continue to integrate them in schools or family with adequate facilities.
