One of the explanations given for the four cups of wine at the Passover Seder (ritual Passover meal) is that when God promised to deliver theIsraelites from Egypt, He used four terms of redemption in Exodus 6:6–8: “I will take you out;” “I will rescue you;” “I will redeem you;” and “I will bring you.” The founder of the Chasidic movement instituted a custom dedicated to the Messiah. As first days of Passover focus on Israel’s redemption from Egypt, explained Baal Shem Tov, so too should the last days center upon the ultimate redemption to come therefore, at close of holiday Pesach Passover festive meal dedicated to His Coming. Throughout the festival of Passover all made aware of need of redemption. The holiday is wonderful remind world trouble natural disasters, wars, famine, pestilence, injustice, corruption, greed, God hope.
The Venice Haggadah of 1609 is one of the most beautiful early print Haggadot. Woodcut illustrations include depictions of the Passover and Moses, Aaron, Kings David and Solomon. Many Haggadot are illustrated to keep the children engaged in the retelling. At the Seder on the first night of Passover, the Haggadah or The Telling recounts Exodus. This retelling fulfills Biblical injunction of Exodus 13:8 to tell each generation the story of our enslavement in Egypt and against all odds, God delivered Jewish nation. Since only the Jewish people in exile, or outside the Land of Israel, celebrate the Seudat Mashiach this last day celebrates the hope of a future deliverance from exile and a promise of a better world. The irony here, of course, is that, at this time, the door remains open for a Jewish person of any nation to give up the place in exile to come home to nation of Israel and yet, so many remain in their comfort zones outside the Land. Sometimes, the reason given is they are awaiting rebirth of Israel as spiritual nation that bows to God. The celebration of this Messianic Feast helps to raise Jewish awareness of the very Truth of the Messiah, of which some are quite uninformed. Raising this eighth day from mundane to the level of holiness can be way of bringing segment of the Jewish population to think about and rejoice in the coming of the Messiah.
While people enjoy tasty bowl of matzah ball chicken soup with dumplings they say Prayers for the Coming Messiah to be soon for God to shorten evil days for the sake of prayers and intercessions of the elect. Some Christians and some secular Jews unaware of fact Messiah is a fundamental ancient living history in Judaism. Indeed, it has been said, half in jest, that when Yeshua returns, the one question that will be asked of Him by the Jewish People is whether or not it is His first or second visit to earth. So when Yeshua returns, they will see and know His coming was preceded 2,000 years ago as the Passover Lamb of God Slain for all’s personal redemption. Belief in the coming of a Messiah is one of the thirteen foundational principles of Jewish faith, according to Rambam Hebrew acronym for “Rabbi Mosheh Ben Maimon” one of the most prolific and well-respected Torah scholars of the Middle Ages. In a prayer the Shemoneh Esrei commonly called Amidah Standing Prayer, one thing Jewish people pray for three times day for Coming Mashiach.
“Speedily cause the offspring of your servant David to flourish, and let Him be exalted by your saving power, for we wait all day long for your salvation. Blessed are you, O Lord, who causes salvation to flourish.”Excerpt of the Amidah. Hebrew word mashiach משיח is literally means anointed one, from the practice of anointing the Kings of Israel with oil; therefore, the Mashiach will be the one anointed as King of Kings in the end of days. Word is similar to word Moshiah, which means Saviour. It comes from the verb to save. Though these words are different, both can be applied to the Messiah who is both the Anointed One and Saviour. The Christian concept of the Saviour and the Jewish concept of Messiah differ in many ways.
What is HaMashiach Jesus expected to do? According to Jews the traditional beliefs is the Messiah will come after a time of war and suffering (Ezekiel 38:16), and at that time, there are several things a genuine Messiah must accomplish:
- Messiah will bring Jews home to Israel and restore Jerusalem, bringing about their spiritual and political redemption(Isaiah 11:11–12; Jeremiah 23:8; 30:3; Hosea 3:4–5; Zechariah 8:12–14; Ezekiel 37:23).
- Messiah will rule from Jerusalem, which He will make center of world government for Jews as well as Gentiles (Isaiah 2:2–4; 11:10; 42:1).
- Messiah will rebuild Holy Temple restablish Temple worship sacrifice (Jeremiah 33:18; Ezekiel 44:15).
- Messiah will restore Jewish law as rule of Land and establish religious court system (Jeremiah 33:15).
- The Messiah will bring peace to Israel and the world (Isaiah 11:6–11).
Most Jewish people do not believe Jesus Yeshua is Messiah because He did not fulfill their expectations. In addition, a Saviour who is both human and Divine, as well as notion of One Who dies for all sin is foreign concepts in traditional Judaism. Theology surrounding Yeshua, make many believe that considering Him to be the Messiah is unacceptable. Still, many Jewish people search to find a man who fulfills the Messianic role.
Jewish men gather for prayer at the Western Wall during Pesach. Pseudo-Messiahs Abound. “Yeshua answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am the Messiah,” and will deceive many.’” (Matthew 24:4–5). Throughout Jewish history, many people have either claimed to be the mashiach or followers who claimed their leader was mashiach; for example, Shimeon Bar Kokhba, Shabbatai Tzvi, etc. Many imprisoned, killed, converted to various religions to so as to escape a punishment or death. Even today, all over Israel, posters and signs proclaim a certain man as Melech Mashiach King Messiah Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson known as Lubavitcher Rebbe or Rebbe.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson
Rabbi Schneerson born in Soviet Union on April 5, 1902 became the prominent Chasidic rabbi the seventh last Chasidic leader (Rebbe) of the Chabad-Lubavitch sect of Judaism. After death of father-in-law in 1951, Schneerson became the leader of the Lubavitch movement until he died in 1994. Although he worked to promote traditional Judaism moral values and contributed greatly to the worldwide Jewish community and beyond, he never announced himself as Jewish messiah, as some of his followers claimed. In fact, Rabbi Schneerson is said to have discouraged all such talk as foolish and unfounded. In contrast, Yeshua clearly and openly proclaimed Himself to be the Messiah for whom Jewish People are eagerly anticipating, patiently awaiting and passionately longing. Yeshua met Samaritan woman at the well, spoke about living water of Spirit quenching thirst forever. The woman said, I know Messiah Mashiach is coming When He comes, He will explain everything to us. Yeshua said, “I AM the ONE speaking to you says John 4:25–26.
Yeshua and Samaritan Woman at the Well, Yeshua publicly proclaimed Messianic mission in the synagogue, which He customarily attended. When He was called to read from the prophets in the synagogue on the Sabbath day, He read well-known Messianic prophecy in Isaiah 61: “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He sent Me to proclaim freedom to prisoners and recovery of sight for blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” (Luke 4:18–19). To everyone’s amazement simple carpenter son of Joseph, rolled up scroll sat down, saying,“Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” (Luke 4:21).
Yeshua Unrolls Book in the Synagogue, by James Tissot. Indeed, what the Bible says about the Messiah is quite different than what traditional Judaism commonly believed about Messiah. With so many false Messiah’s there, how to recognize the true Messiah is important. So be sure to know Yeshua is truly Mashiach and believe Jesus is the Genuine Rabbi. Yeshua Himself has warned us to beware of numerous false Messiahs and false prophets that would arise in the last days, performing signs and wonders to deceive people, even the very elect. “At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!‘’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. I have told you ahead of time in Matthew 24:23–25. So Jewish people have looked for centuries for a Messianic deliverer who would help bring world peace, but the fact so many people in Israel or around world believe late Rabbi Schneerson is Messiah is one sign that we are truly in the end times.
Posters proclaiming Schneerson as King Messiah. Revealing the Real Messiah is Unveil the True Jesus, “gone to heaven and will come down soon to save, deliver mankind to bring permanent change on earth. His Real Name, is the Son of God surely known clearly in Proverbs 30:4. So believers distinguish the Real Messiah from pseudo-messiahs because the Bible provides the answers. The Twenty-five Jewish writers give details of Messiah’s Ancestry, Birth, Character, His Name Teaching, Ministry, Life, death, burial, and Resurrection up to 500 years before His birth. The 333 Messianic prophecies are complete description of the REAL Messiah in Jewish Scripture far more than Haftarah reading for eighth day of Passover as Isaiah 10:32–12:6 reveals.
Jewish women pray during Passover at Kotel, known as Western Wailing Wall.
The following is a list of just a few of the prophecies pointing to Yeshua Messiah and disqualify all other false messiahs.
- Born to virgin called God With Us Immanuel, Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23
- Born in Beitlechem House of Bread Bethlehem Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1
- Fespised rejected by own people (Isaiah 53:3; John 1:11; John 5:43)
- Suffers terribly (Isaiah 52:14)
- Pierced wounded for sins (Isaiah 53:5; Psalm 22:16; Luke 23:33)
- Took the punishment that we all deserve (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24)

- Sits on throne of David and Rules forever (Isaiah 9:6–7; Luke 1:30–33)
All of these prophecies except the last one have already been fulfilled in the true Messiah, Yeshua. His everlasting rule on the throne of David and other prophecies remain to be completed at His second coming, which we eagerly await during this last day when so many end-time prophecies are being fulfilled.
Remembering the Lamb of God Jesus in this Feast of Passover especially on the last day of the Feast of Mashiach is celebrated, all remember the Lamb of God, whose blood saves from all sin and judgment. “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins in Matthew 26:28. “He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My Body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me says Luke 22:19. So Israel has a great hope of redemption, restoration, and deliverance in God’s Word. For all Israel shall be saved. As the Jewish people around the world read the Messianic prophecies in the Haftarah reading and look forward to a glorious future Passover and complete spiritual redemption He brings, let’s pray that all see Yeshua Messiah Who came as the Passover Lamb, and will come Ruling as Mighty King Messiah.
God is opening spiritual eyes of people to Coming of Yeshua after His death and His resurrection at Passover 2,000 years ago fulfilling Passover Bible prophecy.
