Before Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension, Jesus gave the believers a sneak preview into heaven. Jesus took Peter James and John to the top of a mountain by brook Kidron. Jesus revealed His heavenly glory shown to inner circle disciples to gain greater understanding of Jesus. The experience described as Transfiguration shows His Glorified body in a vision. This episode in New Testament revealed Jesus’ transfiguration of His metamorphosed radiant glory upon the mountain. The transfiguration is in Gospel of Matthew 17:1–9, Mark 9:2-8, Luke 9:28–36 as described and i2 Peter 1:16–18 refers to it. Before this actual transfiguration took place, Jesus told disciples in advance of His death, resurrection and transition into heaven. Jesus took Peter, James and John up the mountain to pray. While praying, His personal appearance was changed into glorified form and His clothing became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared and talked with Jesus about His death that would soon take place. God proved by the transfiguration there is no concrete demarcation between earthly and heavenly body whenever God wants direct interaction intervention on earth.
Peter, not knowing what to say and fearful offered to put up 3 tabernacle tent shelter booths. Used to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles when the Israelites dwelt in booths for 7 days in Leviticus 23:34-42. Peter wanted to stay in that place forever. Then a cloud enveloped them and God’s Voice said, “This is My Son, whom I have chosen, whom I love; listen to Him!” The cloud lifted, Moses and Elijah had disappeared, and Jesus was alone with His disciples who were still very much afraid. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone what they saw until after His resurrection. The three accounts of event found in in Matthew 17:1–9, Mark 9:2-8, Luke 9:28–36 demonstrate Jesus helping disciples to trust in the transfigured Christ. To prepare them in advance of the taste of future heaven they will go to as elders surrounding God’s throne. Jesus wanted them to raise their eyes to heaven to reach God knowing Elijah and Moses will be there with Him after ascension.
The disciples were called to participate in this eschatology events Jesus often described to them. To help them to better understand life in the future in heaven. So the only way Jesus saw best to fully explain this was to let them see things for themselves. This is literal transfiguration of Jesus’ body together with Moses and Elijah. Appearance of Moses and Elijah represented the Law and the Prophets. God’s voice from heaven to Listen to Him shows the Law and the Prophets must give way to Jesus in a new covenant. Jesus is The New Living way replacing and fulfilling Law on prophecies in the Old Testament. Jesus glorified showed preview of His coming glorification and enthronement as King of kings and Lord of lords. Again it was to help guide them to believe and receive by faith teachings of the secret things God revealed exclusively to His prophets. Elijah came down from heaven to explain things of God revealed in Deuteronomy 29:9.
In Luke 9:27, at the end of a speech to the twelve apostles, Jesus adds, “There are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”On the mountain the three of them see the glory of God’s Kingdom shining out of Jesus. On the mountain they are overshadowed by God’s holy cloud. On the mountain—in the conversation of the transfigured Jesus with the Law and the Prophets hey realize the true Feast of Tabernacles has come. On the mountain they learn Jesus himself is the living Torah, the complete Word of God. On the mountain they see the power dynamis of the Kingdom coming in Christ” The disciples never forgot what happened on mountain as intended. John wrote in his gospel, “We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Jesus in John 1:14. Peter wrote, “We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about God’s Power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ but are eyewitnesses of His majesty. After transfiguration of 3 people, the disciples saw Jesus standing with them as Moses and Elijah disappeared.
They marvelled at what they saw and experienced. They were baffled yet privileged to tap into the heavenly realm of God’s Power and Presence. As accompanied by God’s Voice Once again to confirm Jesus Is The Son of God. After Jesus resurrected he met up again with the disciples in Upper room in John 14:12 and told them,, those who believe in Me Jesus will do Greater Works because I go unto my Father God in heaven. Jesus will send Holy Spirit to empower believers to do God’s Work like Jesus did so rivers of living water will flow out of the believers belly to minister to heal the sick, and disease, cast out devils, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, doing deliverance from the works of the devil, feed and provide material comfort and help to those in need just like Christ did. Through the Power of Attorney Jesus Advocates to enable believers to expand God’s Kingdom further like Jesus did. So 10 days after Jesus ascended, on the day of Pentecost, Jesus fulfilled Promise so sent Holy Spirit to Comfort, guide, teach, lead disciple into all truth of God through Christ Jesus.
Again Jesus said in John 14:28-21, in 18 I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me any more but you will see me. Because I live you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father and I too will love them and show myself to them.” Jesus said after he goes to heaven the world will not see Him again until God’s appointed time to return to earth but Reveal Himself to those who Love Him today as He did with apostles. The disciples are still alive in heaven transfigured so fully, truly understand the sneak preview of heaven Jesus gave them to prepare them in advance for their future in heaven. Apostles surround God’s throne in heaven to date. God has direct control of universe so decides to reveal His Glory to send Jesus to perform or speak any time God wants.
Now fast forward 2500 years later in the 21st century the genuine transfiguration is real to all saints and believers living in heaven. God speaks directly in His words in Bible to people over 3000 times and continues to do so. The transfiguration is recorded for all believers to understand God’s literal meaning of instant change of the glorified human body into heavenly body form. God continues to reveal Himself to those who accept that He can do so by His words. God puts His words above Himself so confirmed Jesus is ‘His Son’ in the transfiguration vision seen by Peter, James and John although mere mortals then God draws nearer those who draw near Him. God does not impose His Will on people. According to one’s faith those who believe will be transfigured in rapture experience like Enoch, Elijah, Jesus. Now the transfiguration experience was no longer a secret years later. As disciples joined Jesus in heaven to enjoy own glorified bodies as revealed by Jesus in secret in advance to them. Now in heaven with God they join Jesus, Moses, Elijah so partake in reality sitting in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Christ will return to earth in rapture and second coming.
Watchmen who give God no rest day or night as faithful elect will have requests heard by God. So take them alive out of this world fulfil their chosen path to dwell with God in peace like Elijah and Enoch. Those who ask God to be delivered from the tribulation sorrows to come will be saved to escape into heaven to fulfil desire of their heart. They will be among those taken into heaven during rapture. Those who do not want rapture as Elijah went up to heaven in human body alive transitioned will be left behind to go through tribulation. God’s mystery happens by faith in God not in logical attempts to explain God. According to II Corinthians 12:2, Paul was “caught up to the 3rd heaven,” and in verse 4 he describes being “caught up into paradise.” Jesus enabled them visualise to comprehend earthly fleshly body, instant change happening in passing into heaven. God translates human body into spirit-form then restores de-materialized body form and soul as God pleases. God’s Power is not subject to time limitation nano second speed restrictions of human nature. When Jesus was crucified, saints were raised back into human bodies in Matthew 27:51-53. Those saints marched from graves into town alive after Jesus conquered death. So seen by many people like Jesus resurrected in His Own regained human body form.
Jesus foretold of wars, rumours of wars, nations rising against nations and kingdoms fighting each other. There will be locusts, plagues, volcanoes, floods and famines and chaos as never seen before. These were described by Jesus as the beginning of sorrows. Although the world seems more materialistic with super abundance, Jesus wants people to put confidence and trust in God as Source of Life and Blessings. Christ warns those expanding barns for exploitation wealthy assets to Honour God and people. Those getting married or being given in marriage to Love, Enjoy, Respect God’s Value of Marriage. Not proudly treating marriage as trophy of status as in the days of Noah. Jesus will Return to surprise the world so believers are not to be troubled for day of rapture salvation is drawing near in Jesus Name. Signs include Blood moons to be seen before His Return. Only Father God Knows Exact Time so important to Take God seriously in end – time.
Just as Luke notes the Transfiguration took place “about eight days after these sayings of Jesus so did Mark mention within after six days” and was in Mark 9:2, the Transfiguration took place “eight days after these sayings,”about a week. Like any message relayed and received buy any group of people, it is often transmitted and recalled by different people in a range of time frame reference subject to human memory. As there were no live video camera or modern technology equipment tools for live documentation. So communication has slight differences that may exist within accurate identical accounts of historic events recorded on papyrus, animal skins or stone clay tablets. The most important thing to remember is to emphasize the fulfilment of Jesus’ saying, concerning the fact they would see the kingdom of God. They did see the kingdom of God as Jesus revealed secretly to them by the performance of His Miracle resurrection and ascension into heaven. Now altogether in heaven, God still reveals Himself in His words about future events foretold by Christ which continue to happen. God will recreate the earth to perfection without sin to bring heaven to earth to dwell among men. Enoch, Moses, Elijah plus other saints raised during Jesus’ crucifixion are in glory in Luke 9:31 as full participants in the divine nature in 2 Peter 1:4.
Apostles share Jesus’ gift of glory to love, empowered to pray, desire like Jesus to intercede for struggling brothers and sisters on earth. Glorified saints know truly as Paul said in Romans 12:5 membership in body of Christ is not severed by death. God manifests His Glory through those who avail themselves so does not prefer perfect people. The apostles continue in God’s Scheme of things in God’s agenda for restoration of humanity to regain dominion in perfect peace on earth. Despite the fact that disciples were imperfect, mere mortals, who did stay awake to pray for a few hours, they were still good enough for God to reveal Himself or use them. They saw God’s Presence in cloud and heard God’s Voice accompanied by transfiguration. So transfiguration happened while Jesus prayed as usual as Jesus took time out to pray regularly to Father God. Others slumbered as mentioned, Peter and companions were heavy with sleep yet awakened they saw Jesus’s glory and two men who stood with him. So the ascension of Jesus marks the continuation of world events prophesied by Jesus in the Bible. In Revelations 21:1-8 God Himself Will Come to live on new earth: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them and they shall be My people and I will be their God.
