Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven for disrespecting GOD as Jesus stated that, “the one who blasphemed against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in Luke 12:10. Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven because it means GOD’S POWER is denied so the credit given to the devil. It is known as the unforgivable sin so the Bible calls it, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the only sin in the Bible given the status of unpardonable sin. It is eternal offence against GOD because the works of the Holy Spirit is not inferior to GOD and Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit brought a tangible change for all to see in this context clearly.
Yet some are unable to accept the Holy Spirit is able to do such miracles through Jesus Christ. Therefore they chose to attribute His miracles to the power of the devil. This is an unforgivable so it is insulting to God’s Authority. They showed contempt and lack of reverence for the Holy Spirit. The evidence of the physical miracles records was being manipulated by human design, but God’s Divine Holy Spirit cannot be quenched by giving God’s Glory given to the devil. The Holy Spirit is God’s power at work in healing the man involved in this story. So Jesus admonishes believers to know for sure the source of true Power for healing and redemption is from the Living God Almighty the most powerful words, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ. The Holy Spirit is the helper sent to guide and direct believers.
Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we are unable to know the mind and will of God in spirit and truth in the form involved in the Trinity and in the Christian believers’ life. It is important to remember that GOD ordained Christ to be fully accepted and trusted by those who love God. In Matthew 12: 21, it states, ”In Jesus Name Gentiles will trust.” Jesus’ Authority is manifested through Holy Spirit so mocked, ridiculed to discredit Christ before the Gentiles who look up to Christ. This is an attempt by the religious people to create doubt in the minds of followers of Jesus, His disciples and Christian believers. The strategy was to divide people from believing or trusting Christ as the Authentic Saviour Healer long- awaited for endorsed by God. It was to create unbelief to make them feel Christ is not their Real Saviour so blind and distract them from accepting the works of the Holy Spirit.
Christ told them they cannot succeed in dividing His true genuine trusted believers from Him. They obviously were against Christ so did not want Christ to have a good reputation to influence His Ministry in a good way. In Matthew 12:22 They sabotaged and blackmailed Christ saying He used the devil’s power to heal. In verse 22, Jesus healed a blind and dumb man brought to Jesus. This demon-possessed, blind and mute man was healed so the blind and mute man spoke and saw. 23 All the multitudes were amazed and surprised so said, could this be the Son of David? 24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.
The Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of “Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons. ”25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If satan casts out satan he is divided against himself how can his kingdom stand?27If I cast out demons by Beelzebub by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods and house unless he first binds the strong man? Jesus responded by saying a kingdom divided will fall. So the devil must first be bound before you can plunder his house.30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad. 31 “I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. In verses 31-32, He states blasphemy against Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this age or the age to come.
Jesus is anointed Messiah sent to do GOD’S Works so it is blasphemy to discredit the anointing on Christ the Saviour. So to blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to undermine God’s anointing upon Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit descended on Jesus at baptism in Matthew 32:16 so His Ministry started with signs and wonders. Christ performed miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit but the Pharisees mocked Jesus’ miracles though once acknowledged and validated Christ in John 11 : 45-48. Discrediting the Messiah’s works as done by devil means Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons by power of satan.
So blasphemed the Holy Spirit and this was unforgivable because it says Jesus was using the redemptive work of God in Christ. It struck at the very nature of Jesus’ ministry of redemption, testimony, and teaching. Jesus was ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit fulfilling God’s Plan as the Sacrifice for sins in John 3:16, 1 John 4:10. The Pharisees attributed salvation to demonic activity. This is a great blasphemy against GOD which grieves the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the profile tracker who locates Christian footprints in connection with God. So God eyes are upon all with His guardian angels. A born again Christian believer saved, redeemed, baptised, washed in the blood of Christ cannot commit such unforgivable sin.
A believer who accepts Christ and receives the Holy Spirit is born again in John 3:7. Therefore is a new creation in 2 Corinthians 5:17 no more a slave to the old nature in Romans 6:14. The believer becomes a member of God’s Kingdom family so working with Christ and received eternal life in John 10:27-28. Believers belong to Christ the Bridegroom so have eternal life so shall not perish. The Holy Spirit abides in Christians believers grafted in the branch of the true Vine, rooted and grounded so no one will snatch them out of Christ’s Hands in John 10:27-28. Since believers are seated in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places we are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. To be in secret place of the Most High God.
Today, blasphemy includes total rejection of God’s salvation plan through Christ by those who deny or denounce God. God wants all people to be saved as a Loving father so does not want anyone to perish. No matter past mistakes, sins, offences against God or people, God accepts sinners back just as they are. As long as they humble themselves and ask God for forgiveness, repent and accept Christ God pardons all sins. Christ received punishment for all sins on earth including small and big sins as people choose to label them. In God’s Eyes all sin is sin but God grants pardons for sin in Jesus Name so erases and wipes all sin. The only sin God will never forgive is to reject Holy Spirits Work through Christ as Saviour so deny God’s Power to save, heal, deliver, restore.
