Jesus told Peter in Matthew 16:18, that he will be given the Keys to Heaven as Jesus declared His Authority with which Peter was invested. Christ’s decision was right to confirm Peter as the leader of His Church. As Peter was empowered to bind and loose in the language signified to forbid and to allow or to teach what is lawful or unlawful. Verse 19, “I will give you the keys of kingdom of heaven so whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven. And whatever you loose on earth is loosed in heaven in Jesus Name.”
20 Then He warned the disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Christ until after Jesus death and resurrection. The keys of kingdom of heaven is a metaphor of spiritual power authorizing headship of office, position, reception to a church, house or castle with gates that must be opened with keys still maintained today. It also symbolizes idea of exercise of stewardship in a household. It introduces a new notion of servant leader in the passage. In Isaiah 22:22, “The key of the house of David upon his shoulder opens none shall shut and he shall shut doors none shall open.”
“The kingdom of heaven” is the visible Church of Christ globally delivery of the keys of a city to a person, symbolizes the handing over of the authority to Peter. The Church under Peters leadership is to go out among all nations to make disciples of all nations. Peter personally is promised leadership authority. This is a personal reward for his good confession of Christ the Rock and Solid foundation of the Church. As Peter is rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus the Rock of Church gates of Hell will not prevail against or overpower it in Jesus Name. The battle is God’s so believers pray for Christ’s Divine Blood Protection Cover.
For Christian believers, the key to life is through Jesus The key to understanding the Bible. So the key to understanding God is through Jesus
the Way, the Truth, and the Life
because NO ONE comes to the Father God except as God ordained for Christian believers. In life as a key is associated with actual possession and power, so is the spiritual power that fills Christian through salvation and communion with Christ.
In Revelation 1:18, Jesus said, “I am he that liveth, and was dead and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen and I have the keys of hell and of death.”Christ is the Living One inside believers. Christ is the only Saviour died and behold IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE with the keys of Death and Hades. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. 19″Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after these things.
In Patmos, John received this vision message for all fellow Christians facing challenges. The triumphant Jesus, dressed in shining white robes was announced as Christ Elevated King of Kings and Lord of lords to all His followers. Jesus says, I am the First and the Last, I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of Hades in Revelation 1:17-18. To all Christians Jesus says, “Don’t be scared, I have conquered hades and I am back alive forevermore so Jesus HOLDS the KEYS of LIFE.
Jesus says, “Don’t be afraid for I have keys to let you out of that of every place you are in bondage. In the book of Hebrews 2:15, Jesus destroyed the power of death by his own death so he could “free those who all their lives were held in slavery by fear.” We don’t have to live our lives in fear. Jesus died, but HE IS ALIVE NOW. He went into the place of the dead and came out with keys.
We know with total confidence in Jesus who holds the key to keep us safe. Jesus promised his disciples he would build his church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it in Matthew 16:18. Those gates cannot hold us in because Jesus holds the key. So do not be afraid! Jesus is the resurrection and the life in John 11:25 so freed us from spirit of fear.

Against it (All) (Repeat)
So you powers in the heavens above bow down!
And you powers on the earth below bow down!
And acknowledge that Jesus, Jesus
